Title: tightening the chain
Post by: maltese on May 24, 2008, 03:53:56 PM
So, I am pretty new to the moto world and am shocked that the manual that came with my bike is utterly usless.  what size are the axle nuts and what torque should they be set to when i am done adjusting the chain.  Sorry for the mundane topic, but i don't have any calipers at home and want to go buy the socket for the nuts on my 07 695

the axle nut is 30mm socket and the adjuster bolt size is 12mm on my 695, your gonna want to borrow torque wrench or to buy one for the axle nut

Could someone please respond regarding the proper tension for the axle nuts?

You'll be better off moving this topic to the Tech section.  This is basically a section of narrative how-to tutorials.  Handy as it is, it's not as trafficked as Tech

Depends on the SSS

Anywhere from 115- over 145...Really.

Edit:  I'm sorry, should have asked what you have.
