Title: Postal Insurance
Post by: He Man on October 05, 2009, 11:06:12 AM
I dont get it. you buy insurance for yourself, in case YOU make the beast with two backs up.

Why do you have to buy insurance for mail if THEY make the beast with two backs up? I would understand if your buy insurance to cover stuff like water damage, fire, theft, etc. But what if THEY lose it or THEY throw it across the room and break it? which is normally what we buy postal insurance for.

Isn't the postal insurance counter-intuitive for the reason we buy it for?

I bought it for two boxes I sent from Portland to Cleveland via UPS
Paid $100 for both boxes.

The arrived in Cleveland ripped in half and taped back together with UPS tape, they refused to pay because they say I did not pack the boxes right.

So even if you do buy into the scam, they don't pay out if they make the beast with two backs up.

You can push UPS and have that taken care of. . .

+1, they will deny, but if you fight hard enough they will. I got them to pay $280 bucks for a new hockey jersey. Took a around 6 months though

Seems like with full coverage auto insurance, you pay extra just in case somebody else messes your stuff up. How is that any different? Just askin.

please keep on with the rant

It's more like homeowners insurance. Shit can happen so they use the fear of shit happening to get more cash from you.

43 million packages and letters die each and every year due to lack of insurance...... how long are we as a civilized nation going to let this go on.

Usually with USPS package tracking you don't see any info online until it's delivered, unlike UPS/Fedex.
