man. that and the SSS swingarm conversion.. and you have 3/4 of an 1100. only missing the power ;) oh and it would be more expensive than the 1100... but your insurance would be lower ;)

The 848 uses the same clutch as the wet clutch sport clasics.  I do not know if the 1000ds wet cluch will fit in the 696 though.  Im guessing the 696 uses the same clutch as the old small case APTC bikes.  Is yours damaged or are you looking for upgrades?

well i saw the ergal slipper one and i was smitten... got me thinking upgrade.
i'm going to the 803 motor and maybe some more bits to upgrade the motor. thinking the stock would not like the extra power, but i may be wrong.

Before the dry slipper kit came out for the 848 I heard of a race shop that installed a 996 transmission in one to put a dry slipper on it.  DucStew has installed a 900 dry clutch into a 750, he should be able to give you some more info.

I was told that the 848, 696 and Sport Classic used the same clutch.
The MW Ducati 848 Slipper Clutch (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myproducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=442%7CDucati&productID=6714&showDetail=1&categoryID=1047%7CClutch%20Assemblies&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=168%7CEuropean%20Motorcycle%20Parts)  is supposed to fit the 696 and SC according to one of the local shops inour area.

I am interested to see how this turns out.  The 696 uses the same clutch hub as the older APTC small monsters in a different basket.  I wonder if this would be compadable with them as well?
