Title: Isle of Sand TT Post by: pennyrobber on October 05, 2009, 06:34:34 PM We are doing a short ride through south Scottsdale and
Tempe (route to be determined) and ending up at TT roadhouse (68th and Thomas). Meet-up is at 7:30pm at the Shell station on Chaparral and Granite Reef in Scottsdale. 8401 E Chaparral rd. We will be leaving the station by 7:45 or 8:00. And taking what will be a very nice ride. The weather is great, so come on out and enjoy some riding and camaraderie. Hope to see you there. BTW... Have you seen the new 30 MPH speed limit and traffic circle on Galvin parkway at the zoo/botanical gardens? Takes the fun out of that stretch. [moto] If you guys are still taking route suggestions, why not shoot over to the Heart Attack Grill, see what they're up to, say "Hi", and then scoot back down to TT? We could take the 101 up and the I-10 down. We could come back through the airport (it's surprisingly fun), through Papago Park, and back at TT. Like this maybe, http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=E+Chaparral+Rd&daddr=33.299184,-111.945705+to:E+Buckeye+Rd+to:N+Priest+Dr+to:N+68th+St&geocode=FQ5Q_wEdP4pU-Q%3B%3BFTo0_gEdFH1S-Q%3BFYRE_gEd-aJT-Q%3BFbLh_gEdzAJU-Q&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1,2,3&sll=33.312024,-111.945534&sspn=0.048488,0.059566&ie=UTF8&ll=33.387306,-111.862106&spn=0.387569,0.476532&z=11 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=E+Chaparral+Rd&daddr=33.299184,-111.945705+to:E+Buckeye+Rd+to:N+Priest+Dr+to:N+68th+St&geocode=FQ5Q_wEdP4pU-Q%3B%3BFTo0_gEdFH1S-Q%3BFYRE_gEd-aJT-Q%3BFbLh_gEdzAJU-Q&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1,2,3&sll=33.312024,-111.945534&sspn=0.048488,0.059566&ie=UTF8&ll=33.387306,-111.862106&spn=0.387569,0.476532&z=11) Just a though. Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Michael on October 06, 2009, 08:50:17 AM I think we've got a route in mind. Speed traps be damned. [thumbsup] What route? I mean, are you saying that you like my route or that you already have a route? I'll be there, either way. But if it's the latter (if you already have a route and don't want to go to the Heart Attack Grill), then I'll probably go there (Heart Attack Grill) myself at 7:00pm and then meet up with you guys on Chaparral at 7:45pm - 8:00pm. Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Dietrich on October 06, 2009, 08:56:35 AM Our route does not include HAG. Sorry. Flag drops at 8!

Takes the fun out of that stretch. I put the fun back into roads state wide. Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Dietrich on October 06, 2009, 09:45:57 AM Did someone say traffic circle? 8)
Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Dietrich on October 06, 2009, 09:47:23 AM Can I get a hint of the route so that I might intercept after my committee meeting? No. You can't join a race halfway in, that's cheating! Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Michael on October 06, 2009, 10:05:58 AM Can I get a hint of the route .... +1 What is the route? Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: YellowMonster on October 06, 2009, 12:19:55 PM No. You can't join a race halfway in, that's cheating! If this is a "race" then I am out... don't need any tickets... Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Michael on October 06, 2009, 12:30:53 PM If this is a "race" then I am out... don't need any tickets... I think they were just kidding about the "race." You see, the Isle of Man TT races have been on tv lately, so I'm assuming it's just a reference to that. Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: Dietrich on October 06, 2009, 12:34:44 PM Anyone that seriously thinks we are promoting an illegal street race on a public forum either needs some more humor in their day or they need to go out and ride their bike really fast at night. Yes, joking. This is a fun ride. With a route to be announced at the meeting place. [thumbsup]

(http://www.bestdesignever.com/ducati/1shifty.gif) This is like one of those movies where the seemingly honest-looking guy (Dietrich) lures the nieve and beautiful young lady (me) to a remote location .... Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: hoyden on October 07, 2009, 05:21:57 PM What a fun night! Thanks for organizing this hooligan ride, pennyrobber!
Dietrich! I'm shocked. Luring poor unsuspecting Mike to take part in such dark and devious behaviour.... and you seem like such a nice guy.... ;-) Title: Re: Isle of Sand TT Post by: IZ on October 07, 2009, 07:11:18 PM Nice turnout lastnight! Couldn't get up there unfortunately. :-\
