Thanks in advance to everyone on here for there knowledge ....I just got my Ducati and reading here prior really made my purchase much easier. I have a bunch of questions so I will just list them and see what kind of responses I get.
1. What is the best website for finding parts for 2008 Ducati's
2. Which end bar mirrors are the best for rear vision and is there anywhere that sells the mirrors and mounting hardware together?
3. Can you ride a 2008 Ducati s2r 1000 around with no mufflers? So just disconnect the silencers from the utter, kind of like the ex-box .
4. How easy is it to install the clutch cover and colored pressure plate ?
5. How much do you chop off the two bars on the frame that hold the beer shelf ?
Thanks in advance
James

oooooh it is real.....
very nice ride man!!! [thumbsup]
you wouldnt happen to live in NW indiana, ive been seein that same bike riding around recently and there arent that many in my area
THose black wheels are ugly and don't match your bike. Your first mod should be to trade those to me for my white wheels.
+1 on upgrading to the faster white wheels. Although once you have them, you have to spend all your time cleaning them instead of riding. But damn, do they look trick on the red/red.

Yeahhhh, i bought mine with the white wheels and at first I thought about powdercoating them black. After a while, it just looks awesome in white! it matches the red and the white stripe so much better! it is a pain in the butt to clean.... i just use armor all multi-purpose cleaner. that breaks down all the dirt and break dust and all you need is a wet sponge to wipe it off.

Good looking S2R jamanta. The following would really set it off:
-remove frame and swing arm stickers
-remove frame zip ties (this could turn into a fun wire re-run project)
-aftermarket turn signals (front and rear, possibly integrate rear into brake light)
-find a creative way to disguise the passenger rearset mounts (this is my next project)
-black rear spring
Are you taking notes Eddy?

- Since taking this picture, I have replaced the turning signals with a small 14-bulb LED signal. Looks so much better!
- Removing the zip ties is my next project. Just trying to find out how to re-wire it...
- Not sure if I'm going to remove the swing arm and frame stickers...
- I need a stiffer spring because of my weight... Maybe I'll go with the black ones or red if it is available.
Hey Eddie, I did my belt and sprocket covers. It cost me about $30 in materials. That was a fun 5-day project and the bike looks so much better.
MODDING IS ADDICTING!!!!
Here's what you wanna do to your bike. it takes some time & some money, but it's worth it. take a look...

1. What is the best website for finding parts for 2008 Ducati's
CaCycleworks, Monsterparts, Poorducrider any of the sponsors here are pretty good ... if not they have caught the wrath of the collective power of DMF
2. Which end bar mirrors are the best for rear vision and is there anywhere that sells the mirrors and mounting hardware together?
CRG's at they keep them in stock at Cacycleworks. No mounting hardware needed You can get cheaper than the CRG's but you can't get better IMO......... they are the number one must have along with some PoorDucRider Fairing supports. Everything else can wait
3. Can you ride a 2008 Ducati s2r 1000 around with no mufflers? So just disconnect the silencers from the utter, kind of like the ex-box .
You can but then you will be just like %90 of those Harley guys making noise but no power... just pissing people off... I suggest you do it if you have a small weenie ... the sound will make you fell bigger.... so I've heard. Take your time and save for a proper exhaust with some baffles in it . There are some links on here on how to core the stockers until then.
4. How easy is it to install the clutch cover and colored pressure plate ?
It's not rocket science or brain surgery.
5. How much do you chop off the two bars on the frame that hold the beer shelf ?
Depends on how many beer you have had and how many you still need to carry on the shelf. Be aware that once you chop your tail you will get the streak up you back and soggy pants in a light shower.
Thanks in advance
James
