So I have a new favorite beer as of this past Saturday. I have to thank Adam (Dr. Desmo) for turning me on to it. It's the Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA.
All I can say is WOW!!! Adam and I went out for a few beers after checking out his new digs on Saturday night and we ended up at some place in the South End in Boston. I think it was called Pho Republique or something like that. He suggested the Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA and it was awsome. I had two on an empty stomach and I was feeling pretty good. I guess it has something to do with it being 9% ABV. :o ;D
If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it! [thumbsup]

My current favorite there is Diabhal
Stone IPA or Ruination IPA.
Although the Session Black is pretty damn good. [drink]
Newcastle Brown Ale
Guinness Extra Stout
Rogue Dead Guy
Arrogant Bastard
Dogfish Head 90min is the only IPA that I like. That is some good stuff - very flavorful.
My favorite is Oaked Arrogant Bastard, but at $16 a sixer, I rarely get it. My brother turned me onto Gambrinus, which is amazing but impossible to find in my area. I usually stock the fridge with Sam Adams (Oktoberfest is in there now). I'm also fond of Great Lakes Brewing Company's offerings. Most of their beers are excellent.
right now? Sam Adams Oktoberfest is in my fridge.
If I really have to have beer then at the moment it`s Peroni Nastro Azzurro [thumbsup], or Amstel Lager
Either my Rasberry Whispering Wheat Beer or my Picton Pissant Pilsner. Both of which I brew myself. ;)
[beer]
August Schell Dark is my default beer in the fridge. Anything and everything else makes the rotation otherwise.
Sam Adams Imperial White - mmmm

^ is that 30 or 40 weight?
Lots of good beers here. [thumbsup] I must be weird though...I didn't care all that much for Dogfish 90-Minute IPA. It was good as I finished the pack, just way too much money for the quality IMO. I'm a HUGE IPA fan...I just like Pacific Northwest style IPAs better I guess. :-\
My favorite in a bottle right now is New Belgium's Hoptober. [thumbsup] My tap favorites are all local.

Care to drop some of that in the mail? They don't distribute NB in the NorthEast...
Keystone Light
Free.
If I'm buying, Deschutes Jubelale (http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/brews/seasonal-ales/jubelale/default.aspx)
guinness 250th anniversary stout
wee beast
we just got a bunch of oktoberfests in, so looks like the fridge is getting restocked [drink]
That state penn porter looks like it might be something. I'll have to see how it measures up to the Rasputin. Maybe msincredible knows.
No, I've never tried the state pen porter but it sure looks interesting.
if you can find it, give it a try.

if you can find the chicken killers barely wine (10%, 22oz), defiantly try one of those.. (but make sure you don't have to go any where for a while [laugh])
Speaking of good beer, I'm having my 5th annual "Smorgasbeer" event this Saturday at my place.
The event consists largely of a massive cooler, into which each participant places a six pack (or two) of off-the-wall beer. Then everyone selects at random and enjoys, hangs out, and munches on goodies. Silliness usually ensues.

Saranac Octoberfest, OtterCreek October fest, Sammy A Octoberfest. (I like Octoberfest beers).
Normally, Peroni or Sammy A boston lager, or Corona.
Otter Creek Stove Pipe Porter.
On the Dog Fish Head 90 minute, be careful.
A few years ago my wife and i went away for our first weekend away from the kids. Decided to ski, but hte mountain closed due to ice and wind.
Had my first dog fish head 90 at about noon. Events got very hazy around 5. Woke up at the quaint bed and breakfast at 6 am with the door to the room open, my pants/wallet /shoes in the halway, my wife sleeping in the bathroom (mind you we are USUALLY responsible almost 40 year olds), bed still made, a mess in the toilet, etc., etc...

Blue point blue berry ale and oatmeal stout
I had dinner at the Great Lakes Brewery a couple weeks ago. It's even better when fresh from the tap! Drank the Oktoberfest, of course. [drink]

+another for Rasputin. A little sweeter and thicker than Guinness- and at 9% a 4 pack will get you toasty.
St Pauli Girl....in the 24oz bottle. Got a tall can of Tecate to back that up.
Most Oktoberfest brews.

After drinking the Rasputin the Guinness seems slightly watered down. Not to knock on Guinness, it is a good beer. Never the less....Try the Rasputin.

At 9% Three is enough to give me a hangover these days.

Black and blues, one of my Favorites. I live about 2 miles from the brewery.
Been hitting the Oktoberfest beers lately - NB Hoptober, Sam Adams October, Hacker-Pschorr (sp?) Oktober, and Widmer Okto.

August Schell Dark is my default beer in the fridge. Anything and everything else makes the rotation otherwise.
We drank Schell's Lakemaid Beer all summer, and I really like it. It's a good, cold summertime lager, and it was a staple around here for 5 months. Plus, the branding/marketing is good entertainment. [laugh] ;D

I like that place, but it's a bit expensive. It's nice to eat on the patio in the summer and enjoy the neighborhood.
I really like the offerings from Bell's. They have a special knack with stouts...
Bell's Double Cream Stout
Bell's Kalamazoo Stout
Bell's Expedition Stout
Bell's Java Stout
Bell makes probably 12 - 16 brews, probably my favorite micro brew. They are in Michigan, not sure how wide the distribution is, but well worth a try if you can find any.
Other than that I keep Brasserie Caracole's excellent Nostradamus along with Duvel Belgian Ale, and Leffe.
Beers are like seasons in my fridge, a variety of different beers find themselves in my fridge and come and go every few months. But the one beer that finds itself in my fridge as consistent as the sun in the sky is Shiner Bock. For those not in on the tastiness, it's brewed in Texas. [beer] [drink]
The 90 minute Dogfish Head is excellent. They also make a 120 minute IPA. It's hard to find as a lot of states don't allow beer over a certain percentage. The 120 minute is 20%. It's a 40 proof beer. Be very very careful as its very drinkable and you can get yourself into trouble quickly.
Ken
Alot of really good brews have been mentioned ( what's with Keystone light??? [laugh] ).
Currently we have a party pig of Sunken Island IPA and a party pig of Pothole Porter in the refer. http://www.kenairiverbrewing.com/Our_Beer.html (http://www.kenairiverbrewing.com/Our_Beer.html)
I like party pigs because the beer keeps for months and the last glass is as good as the first, a growler starts going flat after a day or two.
Another vote for Bells beers, particularly Expedition Stout. [thumbsup]
When I'm not drinking my home brew, I try & get my hands on a Japanese beer called Yebisu.
Awesome. :D
Milagros Reposado [drink]
For the money, DFH Raison D'Etre is hard to beat vs DFH 90 min IPA. I like the 90 min alot. They did a good job of removing that fresh cut grass taste that their 60 min. IPA has.
I'm enjoying a Raison right now.
One day i'm going to plunk down the 10 bucks for a bottle of DFH 120 min IPA. I dont know why I have no problem spending 6.99 for a bottle of Rochefort Trappist 10 without thinking about it, but I cant seem to bring myself to pony up 3 more dollars for the 120 IPA. Wierd.
I'm a DFH fan. Palo Santo Marron is out of this world. I live in Madison WI so there's always plenty of good local craft beer on my fridge.
I had my first seasonal winter brew this week. Jubleale! Snow Cap is out now too!
Will try that tomorrow.

Long Trail Brewery makes a fine hoppy not-over-the-top IPA, my usual fridge stock.
Lip smackin good.
Also local Magic Hat (please not #9), Otter creek, tap only Switchback, as many in the North
we enjoy a plethora of quality local brews in VT.
im mackin on some jubileale now too.
will get snow cap next, i like it better
(also like the alaskan winter with the spruce tips....yummy)
i cant find rasputin anywhere except for one bar/grill on tap...delish but they serve it in a wine glass [roll])

They've just begun stocking the Session "Black" here in Denver. Was at a bar last night and both Sessions were on the Happy Hour special. The waiter was attempting to explain what session black was, when I had to interrupt him to say, "yes, we know. we just had some before we left my house to come here."
Session Black was my beer of choice this summer. [drink]
