Title: Right Side Panel Replacements Post by: WetDuc on October 16, 2009, 03:31:07 AM I just removed my emissions canister and I want to get a normal side panel for the right side of my '08 695. Basically, the existing one bulges out to accommodate the preexisting canister. I'm not looking for CF panels, just normal plastic ones. I saw that monsterparts.com has one for $30. Anybody out there do this and find a cheaper replacement? It's just a dang piece of black plastic!

Might have to re-route a coil or some wires to really clean it up, depending on what year/model you have, but overall very easy.

Besides, I'm becoming known as the guy who owns the "Monster 69" because I took off the 5 sticker on each panel. I just remember reading somewhere on this forum that there were $12 side panel replacements available somewhere...can't figure out where the heck I read it, though... [bang]

I actually like the clip ons, I got them from motowheels.

I have really been thinking of putting clip-ons on mine. They lend the bike a real lifelike stature that I think looks really cool. Almost like an angry, hunched over football player type look.
I didn't put much effort into hiding the wires that were behind the side panels, I just tucked some of the more obvious ones up behind the frame and they are not visible anymore. Some i didn't care too much about so I just left them visible. In any case, the lines of the bike are much improved now!
