Title: a clean bike Post by: hadesducati848 on October 16, 2009, 11:47:11 PM i was just wondering how long i should let my bike cool off first before washing it down. last Sunday i was tempted to show my support of the UH cheerleading team and stop at their car wash. but then i got to thinking that cold water on a really hot engine and exhaust would not be in my best interest. also what do some of you guys use to keep your bikes looking beautiful? what kind of waxes and polishes do you recommend? and what is good for just wiping the bike down in between washes? its bath day for the babies tomorrow and i want to start it off using some good stuff. thanks for the input.

It should go without saying that you do NOT use tire dressing on the tires. I've seen guys do it and their ride afterward was interesting to say the least.

Title: Re: a clean bike Post by: DRKWNG on October 17, 2009, 04:42:47 PM I've got a rather large stock of Griot's and Mother's stuff laying around the garage, so that is what I use. Mainly just instant detailer every couple of days to keep it shiny, but will end up washing/waxing it every few weeks, or if I get caught out in a nasty down pour. I mostly use Mother's carnuba wax on mine. Looks good on the yellow, but did a REALLY good job of making the metallic black POP out at you on the Daytona.
