Title: tacoma area Post by: medicsix on October 23, 2009, 08:25:22 AM Hello all. New to the DMF. Lots of information here..
Newer rider, haven't even taken the MSF course yet, will be in November hopefully. Minimal experience riding, but have been in love with Ducati's for quite some time. Purchase of Monster 696 is imminent, any opinions on the suitability of this bike for newer riders would be appreciated. Can't wait to re-explore the Pacific Northwest from the two wheeled perspective. med P.S. - GO SOUNDERS! However, most people agree that 600-700 cc Twins tend to be good starter bikes, as they give you good torque and mid range power, without forcing you to constantly shift like the inline fours. They can get you into speed limit trouble, just like any other bike, but they don't have the ludicris speed gears.

At first it felt a bit intimidating, but after about a mile of riding, I feel very comfortable on it. Again I have no motorcycle riding experience, only quads.

i plan on going to the MC show at qwest on the 11th, there is a possibility i don't come home empty handed. still need MSF, most are full. FYI - responded to a motorcycle down call last week, spanaway area. totaled a newer 1098, reported stolen. police at the scene couldn't figure out why the fireman (me) was crying over the bike........... Title: Re: tacoma area Post by: medicsix on January 27, 2010, 07:03:41 PM Got the Monster on the 15th.
2009 696 Dark (no decent pics yet) DucSea put on the 14T, I did the frame sliders. Still stock otherwise. Have only had the time/weather to put on about 120 miles so far.......
