I've got a few things on in Melb over the weekend of 13-16 November.  Bike is getting some love from Brad.  I will have all day Saturday (14th Nov) free with newly serviced bike.  Anyone wanna  [moto] [coffee] [bacon]?  Maybe pay a visit to see Ungeheuer's new Monster? (and claim my coffee  [cheeky])

I have owned the S4 from new, just new (actually a returnee) to the board.

Tentatively I would love to come along... family, house jobs, social committee permitting...

What time would you expect to leave/return roughly?

Brad serviced my bike last week (crap rocker chrome was a nasty surprise...).  Very thorough and professional operator.

Of course you're welcome RZ.  The more the merrier. Times will be decided by concensus.  I'm staying in the city for the weekend and have all day Saturday free.  I am my 'social committee'  [laugh]

Rough plan at the moment is to meet up with Ungeheuer in Loch for  [coffee] then a bit of a  [moto] round South Gippsland.  That's all I have so far.

Come and join us RZ  [thumbsup]   I propose we meet in Loch as early as the sleepiest of us can manage (which in my case is not before 10am  :o ).  It'll take around an hour to get to Loch from Melbourne.... then say 6 hours for coffee/breakfast...  4 hours riding... plus another 5 hours for lunch.... Should have you back in Melbourne by daybreak...  << Tentative only  ;)

Well just been for a ride round my local roads, Port Fairy, Portland, Nelson etc - nice and warm.

So I got to thinking about next Saturday's ride.  If's it's any consolation it's forecast to be a couple of degrees cooler in Gippsland than the city.  [cheeky]

So who's still coming?  Where are we all going to meet?  Who are we picking up on the way?  We need to leave the city by 9am to meet up with Ungeheuer in Loch at about 10am.

Spider you have the all the local knowledge - where is a good meeting place?

I rode home with a huge smile from ear to ear  [moto]...... until..... not 1/2 an hour after I left you... just leaving Korumburra on the Sth Gippy Hwy (where in 20 years I have never seen such a thing.....)  I came THIS CLOSE >><< to being wiped out by a 7' Kangaroo...  Only a large handfull of throttle saved my arse.....   :o

So anyway I had too much fun to let some overgrown marsupial spoil my day.....  [drink]

Sorry you had me confused with the bear thing. Drop bears and koalas (not bears) are not the same thing.

On a related note I recently saw an echidna crossing the road whilst out for a ride ... two separate occasions in the one week. I don't think I have seen an echidna in a yellow diamond.

I saw a Koala drop out of a tree once, well, actually I didn't see it drop, I just heard the splash as it landed in the river nearby. Unfortunatly for the Koala the tree it fell out of was hanging over a 30ft cliff down to the river. The thing survived and slowly swam to the edge where it tried to find a way out. A bit of help with the fishing net and he was back on dry land.

 ???Geez, pester you mob for ages to go out for a ride and no interest.  Go on holidays (again) for a few weeks and all of a sudden every Duc and his dog's out for a fang.  A bloke's likely to get a complex!  [roll]

Good to see that you all got out anyway.  Hope you had heaps of fun!

Well seeing you asked...  (Non Ducati thread warning....)

Rhonda misbehaved at her first track day...  Yes yes I know very strange for a H@nda

Charging isues... It would appear the alternator is not charging the battery!!! I got two sessions in and that was it... No more start and make the beast with two backsing hard to bump start!!! She is off at the auto electricians as I type... I may have dislodged some wiring when taking the fairings on and off or there is some other issue....

She has been well set up, easy to ride and very stable both on and off the gas and transition from brakes to throttle mid corner.  I suspect the Ohlins suspension has a lot to do with that, as does the bikes weight.   She is a heavy bike and feels planned on the road, but there is good feed back from the tyres through the chassis and she changes direction with ease.   I was pulling 220kph in the first session while scubbing the new tyres in and 245kph in the second session when warming up to track pace!! The riding position is radical and she is Very aerodynamic.   Once I get some track time I think I'll be able to pull some decent lap times (for me mid to low 1.50's) and expect to see 260+kph out of her.  It was great riding a bike after nearly a year off and nearly two years off the track...
