I go inside, check the package.

WHAT THE make the beast with two backs MAN. I got half a mind to chew his ass out tomorrow. I just called up fedex and the operator left a msg to his dept. I bet his ass is going to do it again.
make the beast with two backsing stood home ALL make the beast with two backsING DAY FOR NO make the beast with two backsING REASON.
Hell yeah, I HATE the FEDEX drivers! They always do that shit to me! make the beast with two backs them!
Fedex is one of the better shippers in my area. My regular Fedex Home guy is awesome. Super chill. But this was ground.... >:(
UPS pulls this shit all the time, but they atleast have the balls to drop a sticker on the door and run.
Dude you need to move. 8)

FedEx does that to me all the time as well. Ass hats. And I have a new computer coming in on Thursday that I assume I'll have to go pick up.
changed the title to reflect this practice.
It's weird when people want to privatize government services, they point at fedex as the positive model of what privatization could provide.
make the beast with two backs that. I've had IMPECCABLE service through USPS...

YMMV depending on your individual driver. I always ring the doorbell/knock first & then write out the Del Notice to give time to anybody home to answer the door. But I'm pretty tightly monitored and I don't have too much time to hang around and wait for an answer. 8)

Agreed. All UPS drivers suck in my area. My fedex express lady is a really sweet lady, and my fedex home delivery driver is also chill as shit. Ground dudes a douche. Im going to eye grill the shit out of him when he delivers it tomorrow.
I dunno...
my UPS driver is a great guy, and always has a few seconds to chat.
The Fed-Ex drivers are cool too. One even turned around one day after they had left as they saw us driving down the road.
Must be you guys.
Part of it has to do with their job. Do you guys get paid for delierying all your items? Or do you get paid until a certain time? It was 6pm, im sure the guy didnt give a make the beast with two backs and wanted to get home.

lol -- the USPS does do stupid shit too. i ordered a bottom end off an RD350 and the guy shipped one box. i got two boxes with a note on one saying sorry your package came open but we boxed up what came out into a seperate box.
i now have an rd350 bottom end.
and 24 lenox porcelian miniture spice houses with no addresses on the box.
i called the usps and since there isn't anywhere to send it they said, "early christmas for you i guess.."
someone is out some spice houses now..

I don't even know what spice houses are. ???
Anyway, I've found delivery quality is most dependent on the driver.
Regular drivers tend to be a lot better than the substitutes.
I've had good and bad experiences with most all delivery methods. :-\

That's hilarious. Privatize everything as far as I'm concerned.
I send all outbound on private shippers, usually UPS. Why? I can't get any thing that resembles decent service at DC metro USPS. The lines are always a mile long, there are no forms and the counter people are some of the most rude people ever. There is never any line at my UPS store, the guy is friendly and goes out of his way to help.
Inbound I definitely avoid USPS. Why? If it is not junk mail or a bill it has been opened. Not occasionally - EVERY TIME. Freakin' thieves! I got a box from my mom the other day and it had totally been pilfered. Try complaining my USPS stepfather says - see the previous comment about service. I actually got laughed out of the USPS office the first time I tried to lodge a complaint.
Don't even get me started with mis-delivered mail.
Maybe you should move. My USPS guy is about 60 and is very consistent...

I think you are right! My delivery guy is friendly enough and I think the pilfering occurs upstream of delivery.
I used to do commercial account sales for DHL. We had special laptop boxes for repairs going back to Dell, etc. They should have taken the regular box and put a "steal me" sticker on it.

uh hello..... it's where the spice girls live....zig'a zig ah
I don't get much from FedEx, but when I do they've been okay.
The new UPS guy isn't as great as the old guy who would just set the package inside the door if you weren't around at the moment (small town!), but he's getting better.
By and large, I've had better luck than getting things done with USPS.
fedex has always been great for me...heman, you should move ;D also, see related thread that follows this one perfectly....
now, on the other hand, ups sucks my asssss. i recently shipped a ducati motor via ups and they lost it. yeah, they make the beast with two backsing LOST MY MOTOR. [bang] how do you lose a 150lb package that has a cylinder sticking out of the top of the crate?? i know one thing, at least two people know where that dang motor is, cause two people lifted it somewhere. :P they then proceeded to jerk me around for 3 weeks about if they were going to reimburse me for it. wtf?? i even had the package insured.
my ups guy is great. i get ammo shipments occasionally, and he is very cool about having to pallet jack 200 lbs of ammo down my driveway. of course, i tip for that. i told him to call me when he sees one of those and if i'm not home he can deliver later.
I should recant that. I've really only heard Obama, Erik Prince (CEO of Blackwater/Xe) and occasional fox news pundits using Fed Ex as a model.
As far as the pilfering, SERIOUSLY, contact the local postal inspectors. USPS takes theft REALLY SERIOUSLY if they're aware of it. I had a great uncle who was a chief postal inspector. He was the Eliot Ness of pilfered packages.
The fedex and UPS drivers here have been fine since we've moved here, but Watson and Grover are disappointed that they don't carry dog biscuits like our previous UPS driver. ;)

That was the norm for DHL. We had a hub in the City I patrol. Let's just say that no cops use DHL.

Do they work on thier own time though? FWIW, UPS drivers in my area have delivered stuff up at 9pm. USPS stops at 4pm and Fedex can occur at any moment in time. It almost seems like thye dont have a set schedule and just need to make a certain number of hours a week.
USPS is open from 7:30 until 6:30 here. They deliver at my place around 4. I have absolutely no complaints about USPS. Canada Post is another subject entirely!
I've never had an issue with Fedex or UPS.
I've shipped over 1000 items in the past few years with UPS and not one was ever damaged or lost.
I've had 2 delayed.
UPS Rocks.

We have to follow DOT regulations, we don't keep a log book, but we're limited to 60hr in a 7 day period, and 10hrs off between shifts, also UPS tries to limit the drivers to 12hrs a day.
I got a UPS driver fired for pulling that. ;D
But even worse he radio'd in saying he left a note that I wasn't around, I was on my porch at the time....I said to the UPS person if he made an attempt where is my form saying he tried? I was on my porch at the time. It wasn't the first time he had done that, but it was the last.
My experience with Fed-Ex ground sucks!!! Numerous times I've tracked the package to the point were it shows delivered when it was not. It magically appears in my porch a day or two later. On a side note; I worked for UPS as a driver helper one winter. You got to give delivery guys/gals some props. Delivering packages at -20 F is no fun :(

Really, see my post here (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=31127.15), by now your ex-driver should have known that mgmt was tracking him.

I think out local Portland UPS drivers and Fed Ex drivers rock.
The UPS package company drivers are Teamsters.
Our local Fedex drivers are non union and are just as awesome.
Both the union and non union employees from both companies are polite and very hard working. I have never had an issue with either company or

Do you guys tip the drivers from time to time or give 'em xmas presents or just give 'em some form of gratuities for their work?
While I lived in Miami, FL, never had an issue with either UPS, Fedex or the other guys, USPS always, either, left notice to pick up large package at PO or came to the front door to deliver.
An iced tea or soda from time to time goes a loooooong way, so I say.

i occasionally get an order of ammo and it's often >100 lbs. i gave the driver $10 both times recently and the second time i noticed he was far more talky and offered to bring the crate inside if i wanted.
hubby got tired of all the mess in the garage (previous residence) and each weekend he piled a shitload of trash in the alley. depending on amount and content, there was 3 - 7 Playboys on top of the pile.
never heard any complaints from the trash guys.
