Everyone, remember Thumper's rule . . . :-X
Head "Down Neck" for the best Brazilian and Portuguese food anywhere, period. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironbound (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironbound)
If you can, go to "Taste of Portugal". http://www.tasteofportugalnj.com/ (http://www.tasteofportugalnj.com/)
There is a killer Sushi joint in "Hoboken". http://www.sushilounge.com/hoboken/ (http://www.sushilounge.com/hoboken/)
[laugh]
Yeah man, go Brazilian or Portuguese... I worked in that area for a few years, kopfjager is on the money
Try to contact Mayor Corey Booker's office. They should be able to point you in the right direction. [thumbsup]
[laugh] Funny indeed. Several trips ago to the area, I landed in the hospital for a few days with horrible food poisoning the first night of the trip to meet clients. Missed all my meetings and don't remember flying home.
Enjoy the trip! [puke]
;D

Don't listen to these jokesters... eat down neck. http://www.fernandessteakhouse.com/ (http://www.fernandessteakhouse.com/) <-- my favorite place.
Much better food than anything you would get in Philly.
Sat. is Halloween. I would be careful not to go through the Central Ward after dark that night...

Anniversary present for the wife, supposedly. And if I hate it, I can always flip it or part it out for a good bit more than I paid for it.
However. . . there are a number of them out there with transplanted v-8 engines pushing 300 horsepower. Since the car weighs 2700 lbs stock, that should make for about 1hp=10lbs.
Could be fun.

make the beast with two backs you both (http://www.devalmostro.net/forum/images/smilies/FU.gif)
when are you getting to philly? depending on what time you roll through I might be able to meet up with you and get good food that isn't just a cheesesteak (though those are dam good anyways)
although newark is just a couple of hrs away from philly, unless you drive really slow.
There is a Chart House with good steaks that has a great view of the city.
Newark is a shit heap.
My first fake ID in college was a NJ license. They were easy as make the beast with two backs to make.
Too bad the moron at Vanderbilt that made it had me living in Newark and the address was a strip club.
I was told by someone "dude, if someone actually looks at that license and sees you are from Newark, they won't believe you"
After 10mons of use, my dumbass used it in South Carolina and it got taken.
then a friend made me an Ontario Driver's License. That thing was money.
Then I turned 21.

I'll PM you when i know my time table for sure tonight. [thumbsup]
if you break down, i don't think i can be of much help unless you need a place to sleep (and a halloween party to go to) for the night.
I've got family somewhere in or around Philly, so I've got a crashpad if I get stuck.
Hopefully won't be a problem.

That it was odd that someone like myself would be from Newark.
The logic wasn't terribly difficult to understand.
