I was coming up on a green light and a left turn onto the 110 south in Biloxi when I took a crash course in discovering a big ole oil slick in the middle of the opposing traffics lanes. I guess I can no longer smugly tell everyone that I've never dropped.
Here's the damage.

could be worse. shit happens. If you walked away and it's rideable the rest is some afternoons and beer away from being fixed.
Could be a lot worse, looks like just scrapes (which suck), nothing making the bike unworthy to ride (which sucks harder)

+1

It definitely could be worse, it's all aesthetic and I rode out of there. All I have is a bruise on my thigh, a tender ankle, and a couple quarter size scrapes.

The bike can be fixed- you walked away with minor scrapes, which is good news!
Glad to hear it wasn't too serious!
Most important is you are OK.
It happens to the best of us.
I dropped my bike for the first time a few months ago also... Oil slick in the apex of a sharp corner doing about 15 =(
Hope you put it past you and get back in the saddle right away =)
Sorry Pal,
Very Sorry. Glad you're OK otherwise.
I've been wondering when my numbers coming up.
LA
Glad to hear you're okay. Sorry about the rub. You just need to come up with a really cool story. Let the imagination run wild!
Ahhh nothing like giving the bike a little rub down with some 3 grit sand paper. :-[
Glad your O.K. :)
I learned a similar lesson with my R6.I was making a right where metering lights are...You know where cars go idle, idle, drip, drip, idle, drip, idle, drip, drip. [bang]
Well, I think it's almost a good thing to have a first crash that is a minor crash. The mystery is gone, you know that it in fact CAN happen to you, and you'll be careful as a result.
Don't worry about the scratches on the bike; they look minor. A broken ego mends much more quickly than a broken neck.
Still, sorry you had a spill. All spills suck. I've had a couple minor ones myself and they could have been worse.
Been there it stinks, but it looks repairable and you walked / rode away [thumbsup]
Main thing; you are not hurt!
Road rash, It really stinks. Not bad enough to HAVE to replace it but it is always there in the back of your mind. I'd say ride it till you decide what color you want to paint it.
