Very cool look!
Can you describe the difference? (sound, fueling, does it run like before)
sound is deeper but not obnoxious and the fueling seems to still be fine...as far running any diff i have not felt anything out of the ordinary
So,

um...yeah
looks good Nate. [clap]
thank you very much. after the tail chop the pipes just looked tooo long.
looks [thumbsup]
My decision is made I'm chopping the Akro....
Looks great Pappy Nate!! [thumbsup] [evil]
looks really nice [thumbsup]. what size did you cut to? any problems putting back the tips?
getting the tips back on was actually the most difficult part. LIGHT taps with a REALLY soft rubber mallet and some patience did the job though. they are cut 7" from the base of the end cap. at first i was a little nervous about how short they were before i put the caps back o, but once they were all together i was very happy.
might do a vid so you all can here them. IMO they didn't sound as good as my old termis on my 99 900. now much happier with the deeper sound.
Looks great [bow_down]
Ok time to get the hacksaw out [evil]
GO FOR IT!!!!!
seriously once you get over the fact that you are cutting some waaaaaaaaay expensive pipes, it's kinda fun.
Nice. [evil] I like the white raised letters on the tires. [thumbsup]
So did you just cut straight through the cans and rivet the caps back on, or is there more involved in this? I've thought of doing this since my pipes seem a bit long now that I've chopped the tail.
I agree with everyone else, it looks like [bacon]
first cut the carbon then drilled out the rivets and removed the end cap. then cut the stuff inside with a utility knife. now put the cap back on. happy shorter pipes...

LMAO. My nipples are hard too. Bike sounds good [thumbsup]
Good job.They look beautiful!
I still have the stock exhaust on my bike and it will be awhile before I spend the money on a set of termis... but I might do this in the mean time to the stock exhaust just to get rid of the "boat-anchor-look" of the giant stock pipes. Would this be possible on the stock pipes?
........ the stock pipes do not have an end cap... so it would be pretty hard to do a "clean" job.
I guess I just answered my own question.
What is inside the stock pipes? If I got a welder to weld the end back on, would it be possible with the stock pipes?

Pretty easy to do, and I highly recommend it. I did it to mine and they sound almost as loud as aftermarket pipes. I cut 5" off my stock pipes. There are some good how-to threads here. Isn't too hard.
