Took the Basic Rider Course this weekend. Had a great time, and passed=no DMV skill test needed. Well worth the $$. Excelent source of info and training for $250...and less time wasted at the DMV. Next step is to get comfortable with the traffic in LA and eventually trade my Yammy for a Monster. One Step closer to my dream bike. I can't really find a good web site for my application of bike, with as knowledgable freindly people as you. You guys mind if I hang out here and ask question while waiting till I can afford my Duc?
G'Day LowThudd, welcome aboard [thumbsup]

If you're in SoCal I'll go to the BevMo weekly beer tasting with you though. They have a great selection this time of year. Micro brew winter ale...yummm.

Congrats to you! Funny, yesterday or so was the one year anniversary of my taking the BRC. Over 13,000 miles later...
I celebrated by taking Multistrada through the Catskills.
Enjoy the ride.

Congrats on passing the course. Nobody will give you any grief about not owning a Duc and hanging out. Some of the longtime members here don't own one anymore anyways but are still active. Welcome to the knuthouse.
high fives!
i'm sorry, $250? people have to pay for BRC?
it was free for me... interesting.

while i don't disagree that it's a great thing... i cannot fathom that Texas, of ALL states, has made this a mandatory.
unreal that it costs that much. i had a hard time understanding why so many people have NOT taken the course... now i understand.

It's $25 in Ohio if you go through the state BMV. Sign up slots open in February and book full within about 2 days. Dealerships have state certified instructors do the BRC and it usually runs $300. Harley dealers charge $350 and include a lunch/BBQ and give you a hat or something. I took mine with a squid squad at a place that blows out gixxers to college boys.
