I always think the same way when I first see an MV then think oh crap....it's a Harley in disguise (personal preference no offence to Harley lovers).

Not for much longer.....

Sorry, I'm having a bad day.
I don't mean to sound so negative. Actually I like the F4.

I don't think there are any HD components on the MV's. They are designed and built in Italy, HD is just papa bear co.
Mtter of fact they are completely different bikes that use an I-4 and many performance parts. If you go to the dealership you are NOT buying an HD product.... which is why the salesmen will nod you in the direction of the bikes with a slightly rude dismissal.

thnx duclvr.... [roll]
the only surprise there is going to be if it ISN'T butt ugly.
There are going to be some cool variations of current models [thumbsup] I'll be posting up on my desmoworks blog from Milan all week long so bookmark it if you'd like to see what's new. http://www.blog.desmoworks.com (http://www.blog.desmoworks.com)

Are you think of Buells being on the same sales floor as Harleys? I'm pretty sure there are no MV's for sale in the same place as Harleys anywhere in the U.S. (Although I must admit that I haven't been to every dealership).

Pikes Peak HD does, of course it's hidden in the back corner under the stairwell(seriously) like it's the ugly, redheaded, step child. I looked it over for ten minutes not one sales person came by. Went to look at a 883 Sporty (the wifey was thinking about one) and we weren't even to the bike before a saleman came over.

the only MV's that I've seen were at the harley place on oahu. of course, they also sell aprilia (and, like scottish, there was similar help for non-HD product)
Re: new F4
...more than meeeets the eeeeye. I am expecting a little more than make-everything-a-little-more-squareish out of the new F4. Hopefully this aesthetic is limited to the redesign of the exhaust. To me, the original is the benchmark for modern (let's say the last 10 years) sportsbike design. Don't blow it MV.
Re: KTM
A plug-in would be cool if it didn't have to haul around an ICE ;)

I'd make the beast with two backs with an F4 for sure. I don't care for the new squared off pipes though.
I'm just hoping that the new F4 will be heavier AND less powerful.

I don't know but "it's being rumored that MV Agusta has re-worked the 998cc inline-four motor to make 186 hp at 12,900 rpm. Engine features include two fuel-injectors per cylinder, variable length intake, a slipper clutch, and 8-way adjustable traction control system that is supposed to be the best the market has seen to date. The F4's chassis has also supposedly gotten the once-over, with a longer and lighter single-sided swingarm and more slender overall profile."

".. shipping not only with a chassis and drivetrain, but with an open source Linux OS, web server, USB-based system bus, and WiFi connectivity"
Which helps in fulfilling my dream to drop to a command line or host a web site on my motorcycle.
It is very cool, and a gazillion or two times better looking than the Mission One Angry Cat.
