Arizona is a state.

It is in the mountain time zone in the US so it should be 5:15am

Google knows all (http://www.google.com/search?q=current+time+arizona&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)

That's pretty much how I look these things up these days :).

FYI, Arizona does not use Daylight Savings time.  Figure an hour earlier.  That would make it currently 5:07am in Pheonix, 8:07 here on the East Coast.

Half of the time we are -- including the past two days since the rest of the country got an extra hour of sleep (or Halloween party time). But since Arizona doesn't believe in those new fangled inventions like education or daylight savings time, we spend the summer on Pacific (daylight savings) Time & the Winter on Mountain (Standard) Time.

Just call about the time you'd expect someone in California to be awake, and you'll generally be good to go.

Actually, as of Sunday we're just two hours off of East Coast time; my watch says 6:15.

And since this is in GMF, it's really a lot of fun to ride a motorcycle here!

Unless you're on the Indian Reservations, they participate in DST.

Either way, DST is stupid and like someone else mentioned in another thread, there is no reason for it anymore.

Hell, it got dark before 6pm yesterday. WTF?

Shouldn't that just be the USA country code (number 1 I think), then the area code (480, 520, 602, 623, 928), and then the business number.

[thumbsup]

I was always confused about the time zones when I worked out in the desert west of Phoenix.  Our main office was in Plymouth Mass. and on daylight savings for a good part of the year and Az. on standard, I always seemed to call at the wrong times.

Yea, I know, not really that complicated. I'm just a little slow sometimes. ;D

Randy, did you bother to read the ENTIRE post? I'm going to go out on a limb and say NO.

I said they don't UNLESS you are on an Indian Reservation (such as the one in the north east part of the state).

Yes I did.  In fact, if you read this portion of your post, you makes it sound like the entire state follows DST, unless you are on an Indian reservation.

Now if you had written your response like this..."except for the Indian Reservations, which DO follow DST, you are correct that Arizona is Mountain Standard Time all year.

And just to arm you with more info for this discussion in the Spring when we go back to DST (and yes, useless as you suggest, but interesting that you seem to pregnant dog about it getting dark at 6PM on standard time now, so maybe it does have some valor), a note about which Indian Tribes follow DST: "The Navajo Nation observes DST throughout its entire territory, including the portion that lies in Arizona. But the Hopi Nation, which is entirely surrounded by the Navajo Nation, does not observe DST." (from wikipedia.org)

Bite me.

You've never been to the Northern part of the state (Flagstaff) or the Catalinas in Tucson, Salt River Canyon, Payson, etc.  Yes, it is flat in most of the valley and set up like a grid. The riding sucks in the city but it doesn't take much to get to some twists.

BTW..6:32pm here.  Arizona time.
