The sanding will yield results whereas the oil fixing will only result in a new leak somewhere else. ...I'm not joking.

I worked in auto repair for more than a decade and still do most of the maintenance on our three vehicles, but in the back of my mind I'm always thinking about something not being done right and locking up midway through a corner or at 80 mph on the fwy. Maybe I'm just a wuss that way.
