Title: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: krolik on November 08, 2009, 08:15:22 AM PhilB and his '93 M900 are in the December issue of Motorcyclist magazine.
I did a search, so if this is a Derby, too bad. ;D Title: Re: Phil B in Motorcyclist Post by: Spidey on November 08, 2009, 08:16:39 AM Congrats, PhilB! Is it over 200k yet?
Title: Re: Phil B in Motorcyclist Post by: krolik on November 08, 2009, 08:17:29 AM 166,000.

I was about to ask if it was anyone on the board [moto] Title: Re: Phil B in Motorcyclist Post by: m1moto on November 08, 2009, 02:33:47 PM PhilB was a regular on TOB
Title: Re: Phil B in Motorcyclist Post by: red baron on November 08, 2009, 03:18:06 PM Last week I rode with him and it was on the cusp of 170,000. [thumbsup]
He's still a regular just moreso on the local board. Title: Re: Phil B in Motorcyclist Post by: lagerman72 on November 09, 2009, 08:19:55 AM Nice [thumbsup] I just got the magazine in the mail yesterday. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: LA on November 14, 2009, 04:49:39 AM Just read the article. Phil looks like a real motorcyclist to me - specially with 170,000 in 16 years. That's about what I put on mine per year.
I hold out little hope of even living 16 more years, much less my motorcycle making it though. Good on ya Phil. [thumbsup] LA Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: 1KDS on November 15, 2009, 05:44:01 AM Just picked it up, what a great mag. Think I'll get a subscription. To Phil, another 160k+ [thumbsup] I wonder if this is a record, anyone know of any higher miles on a duc?
Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: ian48th on November 18, 2009, 07:28:27 AM Phil, thank you for humbling my proud BMW-riding friends!
Is the old Ducati reputation for difficulty of maintenance officially dead? I think so. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: Supero100 on December 16, 2009, 01:41:07 PM Story link:

No philb comments? He was one of my favorites from TOB. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: The Architect on November 09, 2017, 07:54:06 AM I heard a rumor that Phil was in a hit and run accident. Phil is ok but I don't think the bike made it.
Does anyone know Phil? Again, rumor, I hope it's not so. Frank Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: duccarlos on November 09, 2017, 08:04:39 AM I heard a rumor that Phil was in a hit and run accident. Phil is ok but I don't think the bike made it. Does anyone know Phil? Again, rumor, I hope it's not so. Frank Confirmed. Phil is mainly unhurt, but "Patina" did not make it. At last count he had ~265k miles on her when a minivan took her out. It was a hit-and-run but the driver was eventually arrested. Phil did suffer some bumps and bruises, but was release from the hospital that same day. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: koko64 on November 09, 2017, 08:23:31 AM RIP Patina. :'(
Glad Philb is ok. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: The Architect on November 09, 2017, 11:21:23 AM Confirmed. Phil is mainly unhurt, but "Patina" did not make it. Talk about rewarding loyalty! My God that's some riding. [bow_down] Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: duccarlos on November 17, 2017, 06:56:26 AM He road it cross country I believe on multiple occasions. It was also his daily commuter. Those miles add up across 23 years.
Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: koko64 on November 17, 2017, 07:31:18 PM Over 420,000 kilometres. Would've hit half a mil if it wasn't for that van.. >:(
Once again, glad Phil is ok. A dealer should buy the wreck and restore it enough for display purposes. Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: Privateer on December 03, 2017, 05:46:22 PM i thought i had a lot of miles with 93k
Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: GK on December 04, 2017, 02:14:13 AM I’ve just ticked over 60,000 kilometers!

Title: Re: PhilB in Motorcyclist Post by: beethoven on December 05, 2017, 02:05:16 PM Quote from PhilB on new Ducati Supersport forum.
I have several choices on my short list for my next bike, to replace my beloved Monster. About half of my leading choices are Ducatis. One of the strongest possibilities is a 939SS, which I have testridden, and came away from impressed. Whichever bike I pick, it will be with the intent of seeing it with over 250K miles by somewhere around the year 2040. PhilB |
