Love the 3/4 view from the rear. The pipes reminds me of the engines on F/A-18!

I think it's cool, but wished they made it bigger. Just looks small in person.

That's what she sa....
;D
That looks make the beast with two backsing great!!
305mm discs up front? that's...new. Or maybe not, I never realized the new bikes were coming with weird sizes.
I wonder if they added any capacity to the fuel tank?

Nope. Still 3.3
but you can get a 5+ gallon tank from Chris @ CA cycleworks (as mentioned in a recent bike mag..)

6 plus gallon...

like i said, more than 5 gallons
touche... :)
but "5 plus" infers less then six so I wanted it out there for Chris. My range is 235 to 250 miles, my tank holds 6.61 gallons. I really need to get a better (read: more comfortable) seat.
the article says 11,995 MSRP, could that be right? Seems a bit low?

It's right. It's the same price as the current base model which is what the EVO is. The SP is the new S but still doesn't get Ohlins forks. Luckily there is now an Ohlins internals kit to get the mediocre forks corrected. Not enough of a change to warrant a swap out if you have a 08-09. I was contemplating going to a F1098 but the trade in value on the Hyper is such BS (Paid 14K for an S 9/08, trade in is 7.5K 11/09 [roll]) I'm just gonna keep it and trick it out a bit. I'll buy a used F1098 in a year or two and let someone else eat the depreciation.
9,995 for the 796
11,995 for the EVO
14,495 for the SP. (Which BTW has a 1.25" HIGHER seat)
I had a hyper before and I totalled it. Bought a 1098. Trade in on it is 8,500 in very good condition. I was thinking about getting the hyper SP but for the price the 848 Dark is luring me back in.
