Title: Harley Headlight Post by: jimbonerz28 on November 13, 2009, 01:33:54 PM I swapped my old stock headlight for a Harley headlight I picked up at a swap meet. I like the look but I might miss the fairing.

I am going to split the inner housings and rotate them 90 degrees. This sould give me a normal light pattern. I am more concerned about the extra voltage, can anyone "enlighten" me to the capacity of the charging system? Will it handle the extra wattage from dual bulbs?

How many watts are the bulbs? How many watts are the bulbs? The bike is a 97 M900, the bulbs are 55w each on low beam and 60w each on high. Should I unplug one bulb until I upgrade the charging system? Should I unplug one bulb until I upgrade the charging system? I believe the wiring is the weakest link. I run an 80/100w bulb in my bike and have had no problems at all. Just make sure all the connections are clean and tight and don't worry about it. |
