I swapped my old stock headlight for a Harley headlight I picked up at a swap meet. I like the look but I might miss the fairing.

just realized how you did that. are the light patterns ok? did you rotate the lights 90 deg.?

+1, I'm curious about that, too. if it works right, then that's kinda neat [thumbsup]
Yes the light pattern is vertical so the beem is really narrow but I have a solution. I am going to split the inner housings and rotate them 90 degrees. This sould give me a normal light pattern. I am more concerned about the extra voltage, can anyone "enlighten" me to the capacity of the charging system? Will it handle the extra wattage from dual bulbs?
You have what looks like an early bike with the single phase system so there isn't a whole lot extra.
How many watts are the bulbs?

The bike is a 97 M900, the bulbs are 55w each on low beam and 60w each on high. Should I unplug one bulb until I upgrade the charging system?

You can't really upgrade the charging system without changing the crankshaft, side cover, stator and rotor. The side cover is also different, as is the regulator.
I believe the wiring is the weakest link.
I run an 80/100w bulb in my bike and have had
no problems at all. Just make sure all the connections are clean and tight and don't worry about it.
