Title: Kick stand length? Post by: Two dogs on November 16, 2009, 10:32:45 AM Hi Ozmonsters,
could one of you with a taller/bigger Monster measure your kick stand length please as I am about to replace my dogbone with an adjustable ride height to get a lift in the rear and woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the side stand not being long enough. After Rob's tip over I started to think about parking lean angles . Probably start scouring the bike wrecker's for a longer one unless someone has a spare they want to swap for $$ Mine is 230mm from fixing bolt to the ground. cheers Dez Title: Re: Kick stand length? Post by: Betty on November 16, 2009, 11:39:40 AM We had Jukie's shortened [laugh] so it is possible to add some length I s'pose.
I also don't know if all the stands are compatible or of varying lengths ??? Cyclecat used to sell longer stands I don't know if anybody would still have them though. Title: Re: Kick stand length? Post by: Yellow Meanie on November 16, 2009, 12:41:33 PM There's some here:

Post by: Betty on November 16, 2009, 12:55:08 PM Since tipping and hot bitumen are the concern ... how about a Monster Puck. All you have to do is carry, say, a lump of wood with you where ever you go - the platform puck ... no mess, no fuss.
Title: Re: Kick stand length? Post by: monstermick58 on November 16, 2009, 06:45:41 PM I'm a little confused here, explain how raising the rear of your bike will make the engine (to which the sidestand is attached) higher off the ground??
And will it make much difference? (please explain) Mmick Title: Re: Kick stand length? Post by: bazz20 on November 16, 2009, 08:22:13 PM dez youll have to cut and shut but wouldnt thought it a concern unless you are talking about going maximum height and mick raising does lift the engine as it pushes the swing arm down , bazz
Title: Re: Kick stand length? Post by: FIFO on November 16, 2009, 09:11:52 PM Hey Dez My stand measures about 235mm. Now you got me thinking i allways thought my stand was bent or something as it leaned to much for me i usually put a bit of wood under it about 20 mm at home and work. Before you get the spring changed. measure the height from the bar end to the ground, with the stand down, wheel straight ahead, that will give you a reference to go buy after the height change. Or drop buy at the work shop and i measure it up [thumbsup] I might be able to weld something to the bottom of the stand if needed after. Title: Re: Kick stand length?
