Title: Richmond, VA Half-marathon
Post by: Travman on November 16, 2009, 05:46:48 PM
My wife, a friend, and I ran the Richmond, VA half marathon this past Saturday.  I was pretty happy with my time as I crossed the finish line.  I just received an email with my official time and stats based on the race chip which was tied to my shoe.  I was several minutes faster than I thought.  Anyways I'm pretty stoked and thinking about doing more of these races.  Anybody else enjoy running?

I'd be thrilled to run that far and actually manage to cross the finish line. As it is I'd just die in a gutter... [laugh]

I ran track and cross country in high school, but that's been a few years. Now I'm just sluggish, flabby, and very out of shape.

Congrats on the race.  I ran the Shamrock 1/2 in Va Beach last year.  It was a great time.  I have heard that the Rock n Roll 1/2 is really good too.  but I transferred 2 weeks before that race.  [bang]

Congrats on your race!!   [thumbsup]

I'm big into running and recently picked up the triathlon bug.

I have finished a couple half-marathons and full in the past.

I'm currently running 5Ks and will do my first 10K on turkey day.

I also work at my local Fleet Feet Sports (http://www.fleetfeetbuffalo.com/) sharing my love of running with others.

I ran for the first time after the half marathon last night.  I thought I might be a little sore and might take it slow.  Instead I felt great.  I felt lighter than ever and fast.  I'm going to try to keep this up for a while to see if my times improve.  My brother has done a couple of under 3 hour marathons.  This might be my next big goal.
