Anyway, the 1100 EVO is the latest iteration and isn't a DS, so it makes sense that it is the future. The 1100 Monster and Sport Classic may get the DS this year, but that's probably it. I wonder why they decided they didn't need the second spark plug. I guess the head design is good enough that a second plug isn't necessary.
They have carried the 1000 DS and 1100 DS for several years now. The 1100 coming out in the Hyper around 2006 or 07. So I agree the Monster would get the latest version, but it may take more than a year to get it in there. They may wait longer until some of the new bike buzz has worn off of the Monster.
