This looks hard on those big bikes, but a lot of fun!
OCTOA - Orange County Traffic Officers Association Annual Motor Rodeo 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2APKEnCLElU#normal)
It is *impressive* to see these guys in action. I'd never seen a follow the leader game like that - just the timed gymkhana courses. That one guy who was leading and would bring the bike to a halt and hold it had some 'dirty' tricks for this game.
Looks like I need to buy some cones, lots and lots of cones . . .
The Doc
Good stuff! ;D
Wow, they do throw those around pretty good!
amazing what those guys can do. it's like their bikes are simply an extension of their bodies!
And if you haven't before look up some of the japanese motor officer competitions and general japanese moto gymkhana - there's some nutty stuff in there too. Look for one of the time trial ones where the riders on pretty small bikes - amazing.
I wonder if the my city's motorcycle police are anywhere as skilled as this, I think they mainly do procession duty.
The moto cops here just have harley classics, they would scrape peg way before doing a lot of these maneuvers. You can get 'em to wave at you once in a while though [moto]

It's possible. Around here I've seen moto officers from a couple depts practicing this sort of things in parking lots. If you ever happen to be in DC for national police week, they hold that national championships then. So the best from depts all over the country are competing... the 5x around an 8' circle, exit and come to a full foot-up stop obstacle got a few guys one year. But man was it neat to see them go at it.
they need live obstacles [laugh]
Officer Obstacle reporting for duty sir!
Stand over there... *giggle*
