I suck at it-if I have stuff to do, I can't help but do it-even if I shouldn't be doing it.
Sprained wrist? Let's spackle!
Day off to do nothing? Refinish the bathroom!
Visit the vacation home? Tile the floor!
Seriously-someone slap me.
You can come help me build this 911 motor. I also could use hand doing this front pump seal on a Cayenne Turbo. Not that I can't do it, I just don't feel like it.

Sure-why doncha go to lunch and leave me alone with the motor and the tools for a bit?
do you enjoy doing those things?
Most things that make me feel relaxed and enjoy myself involve sweat and sometimes some pain.
Now if you mean meditation well that is different, but it doesn't eat up a whole day either.
Now if you are suppose to let an injury heal, be creative and do things that will allow you to heal, but still be stimulating....i have a busted wrist(some type of popped ligament, suppose to take it easy) and i still go to the DoJo 4 days a week, i just concentrate on other movements. In fact, i discovered i am actually better now using the busted wrist to strike with in a way that doesn't hurt my lame limb at all.
I too am most relaxed when i am working on my house, or bike or cars, even thou i may cuss my pants off, to me it is a good time. Sitting around 'relaxing' too me, sounds like being lazy and wasting precious time that i would rather be spent being productive. There are very few times i can claim to actually doing nothing all day...relaxing.
But if you like, i have a buy one get one 'slap in the face' or 'kick in the pants' sale going on right now.
RB
I can draw you a pikture of how its supposed to look. I don't draw well.
I do enjoy those things, but they grate on me if left undone, so I try and get them finished off quickly, the moment it's done, I forget I ever worried about it, and sprint onto the next thing. Work until I drop, basically.

That's gonna be the long-run result.... :P
What about reading a good book?
I'm with you guys. I currently have the hamthrax and I am still putting in 10 hour days. I have to medicate heavily to stick to the couch for any length of time.
A bit of weed and cheetos and you won't feel like doing anything ;D
lol that is funny.
just keep on working and such do what you enjoy if you drop dead doing it, so be it. that is what you like doing.
maybe yuou are not meant to "relax" sounds like your happiest if you are busy and doing something nothing wrong with that. that is who you are accept it, that is totally cool.
keep at it. the world needs people that work themselves to death. afterall how else can the rest of us say "damn i'm glad i didn't work myself to death like that guy" [laugh] [laugh]
He's young...
He just needs to read the story about the old bull and the young bull.
He'll figure it out.

[moto]
Yet you have time to babble here? Don't you have some grout to replace? Driveway to repave? Shelves to build?
Slacker.
The worst part is the few times you actually do relax, you feel guilty about it. [roll]
I have no idea how to be productive, maybe we should meet up [thumbsup]
oh really? you can't relax? [roll]
i do recall you tiling the floor a couple of summers ago while you were on vacation
but we were able to convince you to go drink with us, quite easily in fact ;D
just recently, i remember you NOT helping build the bonfire at dimby redux
and then taking the beers off of my tray as i was delivering them to the sweaty men who were helping ;)
this was you

this post is not a true representation of the real mr.inc. he really does work too much
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who "wastes" all my time off. I used to slack off a lot, but not so much anymore. :-\
Haven't had the attention span (or interest, for that matter) to watch a pro sports event in at least 15 years. Can't recall the last time I went to a movie in a theater (not that there's been much I've wanted to see.....).
Last night I had plans to take it easy and catch some tube, but ended up out in the shop putting a Vance & Hines pipe on my VRSCR instead since it might be warm enough to ride this weekend and will probably be one of the last good weekends in MN....

Sounds like you have an obsessive/compulsive disorder to fix.........you should get right on that.

And look at those eyes! He was clearly possessed at the time!! [evil] [cheeky]
Maybe talk to your doctor about it.

The top ten reasons why I'm a procrastinator:
#1 -
[cheeky]
Join the club. I'm was ADHD well before they started handing out out brain-numbing medication for it. I can't stop. That's why I can't sleep but three or four hours a night. I feel your pain.

Interestingly enough, the drugs typically prescribed to ADD,ADHD types are stimulents, not sedatives.
not having to go to work for someone else on the weekend is cool,
but why do we end up working our butts off around the house?
is this normal? even if i wanted to relax, there is always so much to do :-\
It is not normal

says the guy who goes to work when he feels like it, and commutes 50ft [roll] :-*
i suppose we could let some of these projects slide... but then what?
things don't fix themselves, ya know?

i guess we could all use a helper or two :)
someone who shows up and takes care of the things that take away from my relax time...
a gardener? but i like to work out in the yard...
a maid? but i don't want a stranger poking around my house...
i don't see either one of those in my immediate future
time and money...
it seems to take at least one, maybe both to get stuff done.
