I hear that because of the precision the clutch is much quieter! nice! thanks Paul Title: Re: CLUTCH BASKET ? Post by: loony888 on November 20, 2009, 02:17:47 PM no worries spider,
dragon, desmotimes no longer offer surflex, and i won't use barnett, too many dramas in the past with setting them up, the surflex pack works with no dramas at all and if that means a bit more cash then so be it, i can't deal with agro over shimming clutches. rob, looked at the desmotimes site, good info, shame i can't get a surflex from them, oh well. paul. Post by: Dannog on November 20, 2009, 11:06:57 PM You could try STM. Lots of $$ though.
I need a new basket and clutch pack and had a 48 tooth one on my last monster. I'm wondering if its worth shelling out for the extra $$. Any opinions? Title: Re: CLUTCH BASKET ? Post by: loony888 on November 21, 2009, 01:38:08 AM i have a stm slipper clutch in my 888 and it's really good. uses a SPS clutch pack and i've only had to fiddle with the stack height after the engine was hotted up, dunno why.
rob, yeah, i know it's easy, i've done heaps of them on mine and other guys bikes and the only times i have struck trouble was with a barnett kit, both times the stack height was hard to get right so i just don't want that agro if i can help it. paul. |
