Title: 1979 toyota truck
Post by: TAftonomos on November 24, 2009, 12:46:24 PM
Found it on the CL for $250, not running.  Appears to be all there, dizzy cap is off.  Tires hold air, and minimal rust.  I was going to spend $300 on a HF trailer in the morning, but can't NOT buy this because of how cheap it is.  Was mans work/weekend truck, man started working on it.  Before he fixed whatever was wrong he died.  Wife let it sit in the garage for 4 years, and now, it's for sale.

I know zero about toyota's, but it's a 79...how complicated can it be?

Anyone out there know anything about the 20r motor in these things?

If it's anything like the 22R motor, it's worth it :-P

$250 for any truck with minimal rust is a steal, IMO.

Rented dolley, drove 1.5 hours, arrived.

Truck wasn't in bad shape, but the motor was/is junk.  Not enough time in my days/weeks to mess with that, so I passed.

I ended up at HF about 10 minutes down the road.  $210 later I've got a 4x8 folding utility trailer that ought to be plenty for a couple of bikes.  Probably better overall for what I needed too. [thumbsup]
