Well...I am thinking about a Streetfighter, I really dont need more power for what I do on a bike...mostly errands, joy riding a blast around Tantalus...but I love the look except the pipes/exhaust on one side!?
I am crazy?
anyone on one in Honolulu?
Stop making excuses. You want one, you know it. Just do it. :)
Go for it. [evil] Your right, the dual pipes on one side is ugly. (that goes for the monster as well) [thumbsup]
Gene has a SF down here, and comes out to about half of our weekly rides. Post up in our regional and see when he'll be out again next is.
Go for it! My midlife crisis bike was MV Agusta Brutale, plus Ducati 848, plus Ducati 1098. Got rid of 848 and after I get rid of 1098 I'm going to go for a BMW S1000RR. My midlife crisis should be over by the time I'm done with the S1000RR. ;D
You came to the wrong place if you wanted to be talked out of it. Do it!
With this crisis going on...mabey it would help if you bought me an SF also. If somes good more is better right? ;D

When does this midlife crisis is to happen? [roll]
I'm 43, do you think is about time I start saving money for a SF as well? ;D
To be honest I can't afford it :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ I thought about a second hand one....maybe there are many people that buy the SF on whim and then sell her after a little while...
However I don't like the Jap headlight ( I would have loved better something different like the MV BRUTALE) but the exhausts are not too bad compared to other stock ones.
I do like the lightness of that bike...below 170 kgs!!! while most if not all the other Jap bikes are way above 200.....

and gene constantly grumbles about being the old, cantankerous man that he is.
so... y'know. take that how you will.
I know. I am eagerly awaiting the SD getting here. I have already dropped hints to Gene that I want to swap up bikes some time to see how the two compare. [evil]
1. Get the Streetfighter. ;D
2. 118811 as in worker 118811 in Metropolis?
Thanks for all the "YEAHS"
but I am afraid the budget says no way currently [roll]
so I am thinking about some mods for the M900
Do any of you guys know of under the seat pipes for older Monsters.
Something like the H Competition pipes for the 696?
Underseat exhaust routing is very challenging on that bike due to the suspension set up. I bought, and still have, a pair of 916 style cans which I got specifically for such a mod. It was that project and spin offs from it that led to just going out & buying a superbike, or two. Not that it stopped me from turning just about everything else into a variation of superbike/roadracer stuff on it. ;D
Tested the Streetfighter this morning....My God she is really great and easy!
i currently have the SF!! it's worth every penny!
unfortunately i'm selling it for financial problem :(:(:( waaaaaah
Vampire, sorry to hear about your need to sell your SF!!
After a short ride to get my coffee this morning...I came to see that this need/want to get something "NEW" has been an on-going problem my whole life!!
Be it toys, women, cars & now motorcycles...I need to brake this cycle!!
So I plan to just love my M900 just as it is!!
It is great [clap]
Happy Holidays!!
The streetfighter is a wonderful motorcycle. Really, it is light enough to really enjoy all but the goatiest goat trails. (If you have friends on motards, you know what I'm talking about!)
I also wasn't a huge fan of the shotgun exhaust, but the Termis look great, IMO. The other problem with the exhaust design is the heat shield kicks your right heel out, if you ride with the balls of your feet on the peg like I do. A couple of shims and some longer bolts move the peg out, so it isn't a huge deal.
I would say that if most of your riding is in town, or on slow stop & go traffic, you should be looking for a different bike. The SF likes to run fast, and with all that HP on tap, the temptation to lift the wheel on each gear change in a hard acceleration is damn tempting. The bike really encourages you to do stupid things; your riding IQ will go down 50 points, for sure. But in town it is lurching along and the gearing and clutch pull conspire to make it painful in traffic. You can fix the gearing and clutch slave too, so I wouldn't rule it out, but make sure you have someplace to open it up or you'll go slowly nuts.
FWIW, I love mine and would get it again in a heartbeat.
Or there is always a Super Duke. [evil]
Micheal Moore,
Thanks for frank assessment of the SF, along with it being out of my price range...it doesn't fit my riding needs...I don't if I am happy or sad!! [bang] [laugh]
And I just saw a photo of the KTM Super Duke, very nice!!
But it too is too much $$$
I will live with my M900
I do love it!!

As well you should, it's a really nice bike. I never saw the bike with regular bars on it, but it sure did ride nice the way Rick had it set up when the clip-ons were still there.
And as far as the SD goes, come on out to our usual Sunday meet up, you might see one down there pretty soon. ;)

Yeah, Rick has set this bike up beautifully!!
I came off of a Harley Wide Glide & the clip-ons were way too low for me!!
I love the M900 with the stock bars...I usually don't ride too aggressively so they fit my needs & back!!
I usually work Sundays, but I have been know to take one off now & then
I would like to meet some other DUC Rider's!!
Well, come on out. Rick and I are usually there each week, as well as a few other guys on SBKs. Also, Gene brings the SF out about 1 in 4 times.
