Any fans of the great LA band X? I haven't seen them play in many years but they have the original lineup back and are on tour. Curtain goes up in about 3 hours.
X . . . as in "more fun in the new world", that X?
If so, Schweeeet!
Let us know if they still sound the same. ;D
Just saw the show about a month ago here in Denver...it was awesome!!! They still have it for sure. [beer]

Received a sonic pummelling last night. [thumbsup] I realized I have not seen the original lineup including Billy Zoom since 1985! They were fecking awesome!! They sound as good as or better than they ever did including when I used to go see them at the little places along Sunset Blvd. They played most of the first four albums. Kind of a wrinkly crowd but then I sometimes look in the mirror too. :P
If you're a fan and they're coming to your town do yourself a favor and go see them. [beer]
Thanks for posting this, I have been pumped about the tour, & hoping they will come to my town, hasn't been announced yet, fingers are crossed...
I was lucky enough to see them live in '81, then again in '83
Out of curiosity, how did Exene look?

more of a Billy Zoom fan than a full on X fan
i saw john doe in february...
they did a warm up for wilco in new haven [thumbsup]
Can't say enough about how great Billy Zoom is on that damn guitar. He makes it look so effortless...
Exene sounds great but she's an old lady now and looks it. I can't believe she was married to Viggo Mortenson and even has a kid by him.
I've seen John Doe perform several times over the years, sometimes solo, sometimes within a larger band. The guy is a great singer.
Now if we can just get Black Flag back together. ;D
Was Billy trying as hard to get laid at your show as he was at the one in Denver? I swear he tried to get every girls' eye to get a piece. Hilarious! [laugh]
