Title: Had custom paint/decal work done Post by: Meltz on November 30, 2009, 09:41:48 AM Just wanted to give some credit to Desmotion (Chris Saraceni) in Sacramento (916) 628-0963. I have a 2007 Monster S4R Testastretta, which had the titanium/black stock color scheme. The stock clear coat was minimal, and I liked the idea of a tricolor scheme. Now, the bike has a pearl white base coat, and the rest is decal work. All of his striping matches stock Ducati decals. I ordered the lettering and stickers elsewhere. I'm really happy with the attention to detail. Lines are straight and symmetrical. Nice, thick clear coat. Very reasonable prices.

BTW, awesome job on the bike! Title: Re: Had custom paint/decal work done Post by: b. on December 02, 2009, 09:46:13 PM I don't believe he has a website, but he can be reached at this email: brainwashed5150@yahoo.com
I worked with Chris to have custom forks put together for my bike. They came out great and work even better. White seems to be the new black. Way to have a set and change the entire look of the bike. Title: Re: Had custom paint/decal work done Post by: Meltz on December 03, 2009, 12:32:41 PM Thanks for all the nice remarks! I know Chris keeps a lot of pics of his work on his Facebook page, which is http://www.facebook.com/Moto.X.Dad (http://www.facebook.com/Moto.X.Dad)

Title: Re: Had custom paint/decal work done Post by: Meltz on January 16, 2010, 04:49:54 AM Yep! Time to go full sportbike.
Title: Re: Had custom paint/decal work done Post by: Meltz on April 01, 2010, 03:56:19 PM After deciding to keep the bike, found out it's got a case of tank expansion. Getting a warranty replacement tank. Rather than spending the money to repaint the tank, I'm going to purchase the stock-colored windscreen fairing and rear cowl so the bike will be back to titanium/black. I figured since it would cost roughly the same to buy the parts as repaint the tank, I'd be safer with stock colors in the event the tank expanded again.
So, I'm out over $700 for the 2 fairings, plus $200 to have the inside of the new tank coated in the hopes this won't happen again. Kinda thought it would be nice if Hattar gave me a deal on the parts since this whole mess wasn't my doing, but since they give 10% back for their store card I guess it could be worse. Bleh... |
