I'm on Blackberry and stranded and no time and can't do a search. How do I run/jump start this bike again...neutral and pop into 1st, right? I have a dead duc this morning. It's been pretty cold leaving it out in the elements here in AZ. Flat ground too!! Ahhh..!!!
2nd gear, hold in clutch, get bike moving, pop clutch.
Just noticed flat ground, so may be difficult to hold in clutch and run.
Use neutral and pop into second at speed.
Thanks! Tried. Flat ground is no good. :/ taking taxi. New battery or new bike tomorrow!

What happened? Nothing out of the bike? No signal of life?
Ignition on, 2nd or even 3rd, taxi driver pushes [thumbsup]
Push Start, or Jump Start?
Push Start = FAIL if the battery is not strong enough to run the other associated systems to run the motor.
When a Jump Start is needed, I just jump it like I would a car, but with the car off. Nothing fried the couple times I had to do it...monster or not.
Yes 12 volts is 12 volts - you can jump start a bike with a car battery all day long.
Bought a new Yuasa today and a charger. Haven't checked..should be fully charged by now?!
Thanks for the help.
BTW..got a jump from a truck that was running once in Seattle after I left the keys in the ignition all day at work. Started right up..didn't fry the battery and it lasted another year.
get a nail in the battery, adam?
that's new
:-* ;D
anyway... how long did you charge your new batt?
I charged the new battery for about 18 hours. Is that long enough? The indicator was reading green..so it was full.
Anyway, I tried the bike this morning with the new battery (complete with new battery tender attached for future chargings. The bike went through typical startup until the ignition button pushed and then it just clicks?!
WTF!?
This bike has had nine lives..71,000 miles now. It just has to last a bit longer!!

hey teddy, I mean, it sounds like it...How was your weekend?
bad solenoid
Bypass the solenoid, if it now starts the solenoid is the problem. Caution: If you do this the bike will start in gear
Thanks guys.
My mech suggested starter relay
My mech suggests diagnosing, then replacing parts. YMMV ;D

Yeah, no shit. Tom's going to diagnose it when I get the bike there. That was just his thought of what it could be since I told him the battery was replaced and it still wasn't starting.
