I was not one of them but plan on stalking/following at least for one stage. It is going to sound soooooo gooooood!! [bow_down]

Planning on infiltrating the group on Wednesday 10th Feb I think it will be, the day you are heading down the east coast to hobart. If someone does not mind maybe you could confirm what day and where you will be coming from.
PS - I thought that our bikes made us one big happy family. [beer] Only two months to go, [moto] Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: heatherp on December 10, 2009, 06:34:29 PM Sure no problem Roxy. All I know for now is that we spend Tuesday night in St Helens then end up in Hobart Wednesday night.
The routes are not revealed until we turn up for registration in Launceston on the Sunday arvo. The routes are also pretty well marked with ducati logos on the morning of that leg of the ride. Maybe you could join us at Bazz's place on the Tuesday night? (He's offered to put us all up and I'm sure he won't mind another sister staying over! :o ) If not, we can exchange mobile numbers closer to the day to arrange a meet up somewhere. PS - I thought that our bikes made us one big happy family. [beer] [moto] Hmn, you have a point there. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: techno on December 19, 2009, 11:24:13 PM Three monsters on todays ride and that was more than any other model. (Four if you include Bazz going the other way!) Even more than CBR600's and there are plenty of them around.
Sorry no photos. I forgot my camera. Dave or Nic might post some. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: roxy696 on December 20, 2009, 01:07:58 PM sorry from me also - did have the camera but did not get any good pics.. Any thoughts on having a monster meet, maybe a similar ride but waiting at the bakery this time then heading across to campbell town! We could let those not on monsters play too. It was great to meet you guys and look forward to meeting you too bazz - one day.

Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: ellingly on December 22, 2009, 06:15:34 PM Am I allowed on an OzMonsters ride even if I'm not on my Monster? Blasted thing spat the cush drives out the back of the sprocket & ate my eccentric hub so I came down here bikeless.
Not leaving bikeless though. In a discussion regarding my dad giving up riding, the subject of his '91 gixxer came up. I was gonna take it back to Canberra in March/April sort of timeframe, but, that's now changed. I'm taking it back on the boat with me on the 5th. It has scarily old tyres which are a bit square and very slippery, but it went ok on a gentle lash over and back Grasstree Hill just then :). I've got my (now incorrect URL) OzMonsters tshirt I could wear though. :P. I'm having a hella whinge about it but made harder by the fact it was discovered just as I was to head off on an epic snowies ride to get me down to Tassie. Long story, can't be arsed derbying :).Anyway, might be up for a ride. I'm kinda out on the 29-30-31-1-2 sorta time period but pretty sure I can squeeze in a ride sometime else :). And/or make a good day of it on my way up to the boat... though with 10 year old, squared off and knackered tyres I'm taking it pretty easy. Plus, hey, the gixxer is old enough to buy beers at a pub. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: bazz20 on December 23, 2009, 11:38:43 AM pitty your no here got all the parts here parts stick too your guns and if you are bringing the gixxer over here puts some new rubber on your not going too enjoy your self on these roads , ther bad enough dry but wet be warned there like ice [thumbsup]

Lapped most of the state before I left. (And I and the gixxer are already here. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: techno on December 30, 2009, 11:24:29 PM Reviving this thread as it seems we might have family commitments out of the way so we can fit in our east coast meet up.
I suggest Sunday 3 January 2010. Leave Hobart about 10 and plan to meet Bazz for lunch around Swansea / Bicheno area. Weather should be OK. Low 20's and no rain. Last ride before I'm back at work Monday. Does this work for you Dave, Nic and Bazz? Ellingly, you still about with that Gixxer? Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: bazz20 on December 31, 2009, 12:20:35 PM yer works for me where in swanie are we meeting weather mite be cooler too [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: Yellow Meanie on December 31, 2009, 03:44:01 PM Yep, should be good for me too.

Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: techno on December 31, 2009, 05:42:45 PM Sounds like a goer. [moto]
Dave, how about we meet at the same servo as last week a bit before 9.30 for a 9.30AM departure? (For Ellingly, thats the servo where Hungry Jacks is in Eliz st. if you are able to make it). We should be able to pick Nic up going thru Sorell at 10ish near Banjo's. That should allow plenty of time to get to Swansea. How was the food at the Swansea Bark Mill Bazz? If it was OK we could meet there. We should arrive around lunch time. I am open to suggestions. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: bazz20 on December 31, 2009, 07:55:21 PM if the bark mill is where we met that was cheap and fine but open to any suggestions [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: Yellow Meanie on December 31, 2009, 10:39:57 PM Sounds good Techno. See you there [thumbsup]
Are you going to post the ride on TMR also? Maybe the very nice Daytona rider will join us ;) And the Southerly change is here, straight from Antarctica... Some friends are in town and they're making me go to "The Taste" for [bacon] and [wine] and then out on the town later for [beer] (yes my arm is made of rubber and is easily twisted) So, if I'm there, I'm there. If not have a good one! Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: ellingly on January 01, 2010, 10:11:12 PM I'm gonna pike... just don't feel like doing a decent run on a sportsbike that can legally drink, has 11 year old tyres, when the safest pair of footwear I have is a pair of skate shoes :)
See you guys next time I'm down here though :D. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: techno on January 01, 2010, 11:24:15 PM well whoever turns up, turns up I suppose. We will see how it goes. [thumbsup]

Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: techno on January 03, 2010, 12:28:37 AM It was a good ride. Thanks for coming along.
Nic and I got stuck behind traffic on the way up the hill but had a much clearer run coming down. The missus is feeling it a bit being on the back on the bike all day. I could tell she was squirming around trying to get comfortable the last half hour before we got home. Anyone get any pics? I went to bring my camera but my daughter stole it and I couldn't find it when I was leaving. Title: Re: Tasmania in February Post by: bazz20 on January 03, 2010, 01:36:57 AM no sorry lee i didnt [bang]
