Title: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: cyrus buelton on December 08, 2009, 05:34:15 AM Just got some DBR-13's for my S4r.
Looking for pictures and opinions to mount below or above the triple clamp. Also, I have a top mount steering damper, so looks like I have to keep the handlebar clamp to keep this feature. (bars are already sold to Mr. Duckstew) Bring it on fella's Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: MonsterMan1036 on December 08, 2009, 05:57:47 AM Here you go CC below triple:

My picture sucks but
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/vwboomer/s4rclipons.jpg) If you mount above, they will actually be higher than the stock handlebars. And IMO mounting above looks a little.....silly. Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 08, 2009, 10:51:57 AM I've had 'em both. Above for the long ride to Vegas so i was less fatigued, and it was comfortable.

Bad pic... (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll286/StradaleNuda/13b.jpg) Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: cyrus buelton on December 08, 2009, 07:25:43 PM Seems to be a mix review on below or above triples.
Chris@cyclecat (formerly known as) is doing the install and he says most monsters get above the triple install. I rode another members bike and they were below and felt fine. Only issue is how to deal with the top mount steering damper Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 08, 2009, 07:28:07 PM Remember you'll still be gaining a silly amount of sweep and adjustability. where ever you decide to put them, you'll be quite happy.
Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: cyrus buelton on December 08, 2009, 08:06:43 PM I just don't want to sell my arrow top damper and buy an ohlins side mount.
working duckstew on a solution. So look look like most do under triple. That is the way I will go Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 08, 2009, 08:13:25 PM Yep. That's what I did. Here's a shot or two:

Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: ducducgooseme on December 09, 2009, 04:54:45 AM I have the CC triple and clipons. I had my triple tapped by a local machine shop and run the Matris top mount damper on her
(http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm228/ducducgooseme/S4r/_DSP6784.jpg) Works very well Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 09, 2009, 05:30:44 AM I pretty much love everyrhing I can see except for those reservoirs. (Christmas is coming ;))
Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: ducducgooseme on December 09, 2009, 05:59:45 AM old pic...reservoirs now are rizoma black with the new rizoma stands for em!!
Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 09, 2009, 06:01:42 AM well then there's nothing not to like.
Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: cyrus buelton on December 09, 2009, 06:11:58 AM If Stewart makes clamps to fit a damper under the (OEM) S4R triple, I'd buy one. I dont think he is making a clamp, just some ideas for me. I just dont want them too low, I have a bad left shoulder. If I mount above, can I still drop lower than say my stock Magura's? Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: junior varsity on December 09, 2009, 06:18:58 AM I think so, the angle is also superb. They are also narrower than the stock style bars.

Hmmmmm.......... [cheeky] Title: Re: cycle cat Clip Ons - Lets see some Pictures Post by: cyrus buelton on December 11, 2009, 06:39:22 AM I want a CC Triple!!!
Having Chris@trackweapon/cyclecatformer do the install. Also having some heated grips put on. |
