6 days , 1700 miles and a sore arse.
Just got home from riding around Thailand , started Midday Friday from pattaya and rode to Phisanalok for a bike show 440 miles in 6 hours riding , next day 240 miles up to Chiangmai for the annual show and 2 days and about 160 miles riding around the mountains and some serious partying ,then Monday 10am I ride to UdonThai 8 hours and 470 miles later and some stunning scenery and mountain roads I arrive knackered at my mates house for a session.Next a run down to home 487 miles in 10 hours .
Nothing broke or fell off the S4...... max speed obtained 135mph average 50mpg the rear Metzler Z6 has balloned in one place after 9000miles use so will be replaced, oil and filter to be changed as well.
I used a Cramp Buster on the throttle ...brilliant !!!!!!.......after long runs i usually have carpal tunnel and shoulder problems but this time nothing.....recommended you get one if you do long trips.
The seat is terrible it needs modifying somehow.the inside of my right thigh is raw.
I want to go again soon.

Indeed, where are they?!
No camera = No pictures sorry.
Sounds like an amazing trip. I would suspect the roads were a little hair-raising. How were they?
Many are excellent ,Thai roads tend to average 10-12m across on dual track highways so plenty of room , surfaces are generally good but can get bumpy or sandy in corners , hazards are Thai drivers, dogs, elephants ,snakes, potholes, landslips, rain which you cannot ride during, the cops but hey can be bribed for $3. out of the city the traffic gets light except on really major highways its a biking paradise really.
look up on the web GT rider forum or eagle riders Udon Thani for photos and good reads by local riders.
Cops can be bribed for $3 there?! That's crazy!!!

jerryz, this is fantastic! Inspiration for those of us who'd love to conquer a massive trip on two wheels. Thx for sharing!
Wow you gotta build your ass up to attach it to that torture device of a seat that comes stock on the Monster. I did notice considerable improvement as the season went on but...
I would so be doing a new seat or something before a long multi-day adventure like that.
Ahh...I miss Thailand. 100 baht can get you so much. :)
Gas is now $4 a gallon here ,,,things are not as cheap as they used to be. a Ducati is double the USA price
