I now really understand why bp's got so many pets.
After spending only two days there I saw no less than 12 stray dogs and 6 or so cats roaming the streets (often walking down the middle). It made me so sad to see this. It was even worse than what I'm used to seeing across the border to the south. :P
[thumbsup] to bp and lm for doing more than their part to help the homeless.
I'm assuming you gathered up all these vagrants and took them over to bp's? [cheeky]

If only they were that lucky.
My girlfriend and I volunteer with her sister's dog rescue organization (she specializes in dogs that are sick or injured) and we've been to the Bake-o shelter several times. Great facility, but overwhelmed with the amount of strays they handle. And it keep s geting worse along with the economy.
no more room at the inn
;)
what cracks me up is that people who worry about strays want to run around and cut their nuts off.
WTF!
if i was a stray, the last thing i want is some Steven Keaton-looking motherfu###r coming after me with a pair of scissors to "help" me.
most cats are quite happy with a few open garbage cans around...
So there are no hungry people in Bakersfield then?
