Same size basket/plates/press plate or not?

later model M750 2001 vs 2005 800ss.

I'd imagine that the 800SS is an APTC clutch, if so, the basket and pressure plate are different.

AFAIK, the plates are the same.

ducati.com has the parts catalogues.

The SS never got the APTC clutch, I replaced the APTC in my monster with one.  I have heard there are a few years of M750's that use a pull type clutch release, not sure of the years though.  As speeddog said the part catalogs off the ducati web site are your friends in a case like this.

Indeed they never used the APTC clutch in the 800SS or Monster.  Only the little Monster got the APTC.  And yes, the clutch parts (basket, plates, etc.) should fit from 750 to 800 or 800 to 750, as the case may be.

'05 S2R800 has an APTC clutch.

According to parts catalogues, '01 M750 and '05 800SS have the same pressure plate and plate set.
Baskets are different part numbers, but they include the primary gear that goes on the crank.
800SS has an anti-backlash gear on the crank, M750 does not, so that's very likely the only reason for the different part#.
