Title: What is my TV Worth?
Post by: cyrus buelton on December 14, 2009, 05:34:02 AM
Just scooped up a Samsung 50" 1080p Plasma for a 999.99 from Best Buy Last night.

I have a 42" LG Plasma 720. I bought January of this year.

Monitor has never been gamed on and not used all that much.

I want to sell it on Craigs List but don't want to get screwed over.

I was thinking of asking for 450$ and settling on 400$.

Thoughts?

That's not a bad price considering a new LG would set you back about $500, but I'm betting that it won't sell on CL for that price. I'm not saying that it's not a fair price, but as a buyer for a $100, I'd rather go and get one with a warranty.

If you want to move it, you might start in the $300-$375 range.

I know that sounds bad for being so low, but it's like a garage sale. If you don't aim low enough especially before the holidays, it's most likely that you'll get passed by.

In anycase, good luck!  [thumbsup]

That's a much better idea than selling it anyway!

But if worst comes to worst, you can always gift it to us as an unexpected Christmas gift!  [cheeky]

We were actually in Best Buy this past weekend and I was drooling over a Samsung LED tv that I'm dying to have. They were playing U-571 and it really felt like you were right there in the submarine with the actors - it was amazing!

Yeah-why buy a new one if you hardly use the old one?

I would have bought it if it were bit smaller size and pick up would have been piece of cake from you.

I'll give you $350.  ;D

If it were a 1080 then you'd get closer to $500 or so.

Already got a 32" 1080 LCD in the bedroom.

Looks like we got a few buyers from my wife's work at 400$

Barely used is selling tool my friends.

Just means it wasn't on 100% of the time and never gamed on.

Can't you get burn-ins with video games on Plasma's?

Had a friend it happened to.

Maybe technology has changed, I don't really know.

It's really, really hard now to get burn in on plasmas.

BTW, from everything I've read/researched, 1080p is only noticeable if the screen size is >50"

Good to know if I was a gamer.

Had to give up my PS2 and SOCOM Navy Seals about 5.5yrs ago.

I got addicted.
