I have reservations for WDB, Mrs. WDB., Lance, and myself.  We're going, come hell or high-water.  (Unless it rains).  Just kidding.  I haven't been watching the big board to see who all is going.   I know, it will be a drag without Brutales, Mother, and Millertime, but still worth it for us.

But yes the van is available for sleeping for 29.99 with use of my hotel bathroom. Sleeping bag not provided.

I just realized that at 20+ you are riding a less than 50 hp bike and at 40+ you are enjoying a bike three times as powerful.
This means that the old man knows how to enjoy life and to have fun and that's what it's all about. [thumbsup]

How about a cage?  Could you haul a cage in your cage for me?  My ferret sitter is going to be out of town and I may need to bring Boo if I can't find someone else.  Lance refuses to share the beertray with him.  He won't take up much room, he'll be in a pet taxi, but he has to stay cool.  I would consider backpacking him myself, but then his chances for survival would be reduced even further.   ;D

When Lance heard that Boo might be riding up with Pam he threw a big fit cuz he' sure Boo's going to have more fun than he is.  He said he's sick of doing Red Mountain with a no-knee-droppin-grandma.   So I may have to put him on Zaster's bike for that stretch to placate him. 

Anyway, that would be fabulous if Pam can take him. I'm still trying to find someone to take care of them, but it is good to know that it won't be a show stopper.  He's the only one that needs a daily check-in.   Will Pam be leaving at the same time as all of us?  I can run him by your place and then come back to get the bike. We can firm it up as the time approaches.  Thanks so much!  I am instantly stress-free about the front end of the trip.  Now have to figure out the backend since I am going over to Colorado Springs Sunday AM for a granddaughter's birthday.  Ohhh, the joys of ferret ownership.

Hey Punx, I passed you today...you were headed out of Durango (black ducati jacket and red and white monster?) as I was headed back from Ouray.  I was on the 1098 with gear bags.

Seriously, they don't??  That's great because I picked up a 97 in a 65 out by Sterling on my little adventure to Sturgis last weekend.  I wondered how soon my insurance would rocket on me.  I guess the days of a simple warning are past.  It makes a huge difference while the lecture is being delivered if you think you might get off with a warning.  The officer announced perfunctorily and summarily at the outset that he was writing a ticket.  Kind of harshed my buzz.  There was much less bowing and scraping on my part than usual as he asked me to keep my speed down from then on.   It felt like when the dental hygienist tells me to floss twice a day.  Here's to lip service.   [evil]

I don't even know how long he was back there.  No music, but the sound of the wind and my pipes, plus my helmet drowned the siren out.  I just barely caught a glimpse of flashing lights in my rearview mirror as I was getting ready to pull back in after a pass.  Lucky I was down under triple digits.  They impound for that, don't they?  Radar sounds hard and complicated.  I don't even do an i-pod.  Once again, stuck in the 19th century.

After a bit of searching on "interstate drivers license compact"  I found that Colorado shares information on serious violations such as DWI/DUI but not speeding (to a certain extent). Still looking at it to make sure

Well guys I am still unsure of whether or not I will be able to make it.  I was going to pick up my bike from pjs on Friday and when they were moving it they thought that the front wheel needed looked at because it had a lot of drag.  They pulled off the front wheel to find that the front axle is bent.  So I have a new one on the way from Italy.  That was my only option says TJ.  Needless to say I am pissed seeing that they have had 2 MONTHS to discover this problem!  So anyway if it gets here in time I will be going if not I hope you guys have a great time! North of Ouray.  Wasn't even traveling (average speed) that fast at that point.  Just finished passing a line of cars (hate to be behind cars) and was slowing down.  Cop seemed fairly nice though, almost like he rode too?

But, he's the one that told me that ticket points from CO dont matter in NM.

Zaster isn't the only one with a get off this trip now...

Comin south of durango I decided to take river road instead of 550 to the bottom of bondad hill... figured I could get away from some traffic that way.

Long story short, came up a hill, and all of a sudden at the top of said hill was a turn.  This turn was in a place that you couldn't see it untill you were already there.  was doin about 30-40 mph.  put ont he breaks (didn't lock em up) tried to turn, but was already on the right hand side of the road (this is a left turn).  That immediately put me into the dirt on the side of the road and laid the bike over on it's righ side.

Break lever is make the beast with two backsed.  Handlebars are make the beast with two backsed.  Tanks is scratched to make the beast with two backs.  Cowl is scratched to make the beast with two backs.  Heat shields on exhaust are scratched to make the beast with two backs.  Nothing too big except:

The make the beast with two backsing stock ducati clutch cover is weak and thin.  Must have took a rock to it pretty hard, cause it had bent in and while the bike was dying managed to shear off 5 of the six posts in the clutch.  Now Ineed a new clutch drum... probably new clutch pack, gonna get a new pressure plate that protects that shit.  and a new cover.

Oh.  And my leathers did great.  I'm just a little bruised.  Except the stiched in the armpit came undone... does Dainese have a warranty for such things?

Holy crap.  Was this a ride or a demolition derby?  Glad to see that it was only hardware injuries.  Work and the weather conspired to prevent me from making a trip up there.  Looks like I could have picked up some bikes along the way if I had been able.  Hope everyone had a good time otherwise.  Looks like the weather was good in the pictures.  Albuquerque got plastered with storms over the weekend.  Was able to dodge storms the past 2 days and get some seat time in (Taos today).  Got to work overtime tomorrow so I'm done 'til the weekend.
