Well, some stuff has happened in the last couple weeks.
I completed Hell Week, but I missed passing by 2%. I have been disenrolled from school and have been waiting to see what they were going to do.
Well, I found out today. I am going to a submarine tender based out of Guam. USS Frank Cable. I'll know more over the next few days, but I think I'll be leaving in 2 months or so....
Here?

Chris, remind me again what your role is in the Navy please.
Good luck!
Yup. That boat...
I am a Hospital Corpsman, but will be going to the boat as a Radiation Health Technician...
Cool! Well best of luck to you! [thumbsup]
Well that doesn't exactly sound like good news, unless the family is looking to relocate to a tropical island....
Well, unfortunately, this is the first time in my career that I've had no say in where I'm going. I guess it could be worse, I could be going to Diego Garcia...
I'm on oahu, come drink beer.
Ummmm, that's not exactly a short drive...
This is all I have to say about Guam.

:o Wow!! I bet I could get her to ignore me instantly!!
On topic - NAKID do you you scuba dive? I think there are some great scuba spots in Guam, no?
Just curious
What do you do with the two new vehicles you bought?
One I am bringing, but the truck is going to stay with my sister in law in Ca...

Very cool.
Hopefully she'll make the payments for you ;D
Chris, did you ever get through that certification course for motorcycles that you ranted about a while back?
Nope. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do it prior to arriving in Guam either due to the weather...
Rad Tech on a tender is not a bad job at all.
I've hired a bunch of em over the years. It's good experience. The US is probably going to build new series of Power reactors and people will be needed to operate them.
The company I used to work for wrote the book on how to determine nuclear experience in the military. Tender work is one for one. ELT on a boat isn't.
In general, navy nukes are some of the smartest most technically competent people on the planet. [bow_down]
LA
FWIW, I seriously heart Guam. Beautiful place, and the natives are pro-US and pro-military, at least mostly.
We'll see what 6,000 Marines does to that feeling [cheeky]
Sorry to hear about school. I don't know much about Guam. My cousin was there years ago. Since then they have put a lot of money into facilities, including housing and MWR.

I concur for the most part. [roll] ;D Just watch out, some are just weird dudes. [laugh]
