Title: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: stopintime on December 20, 2009, 09:09:19 AM I know they are down, but have you seen numbers broken down to models/families?
How are Monsters doing compared to SuperBikes compared to HyperMotard a.s.o. :P Title: Re: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: Bill in OKC on December 20, 2009, 10:23:28 AM Do the 'official' sales numbers count units shipped to dealers or do they count only bikes delivered to customers?

Post by: stopintime on December 20, 2009, 12:10:27 PM Do the 'official' sales numbers count units shipped to dealers or do they count only bikes delivered to customers? In Europe it's units with license plates put on, taxes and VAT paid. I've seen the numbers for the first nine months, but they were just counting brand totals and best selling top 20 models or something. Title: Re: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: ducatiz on December 20, 2009, 06:02:00 PM yeah, ever since Ducati went private, they don't publish the exact amounts of bikes made vs bikes sold etc
Title: Re: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: jerryz on December 21, 2009, 12:16:56 AM Ducati Thailands 2009 sales are 50% of 2008
Ducati Singapore 2009 sales are 50% of 2008 I dont know UK Ducati dealers figures but my triumph dealer friends sales in 2009 are up 14% on 2008, but his Honda and Kawasaki franchise is down by 40%. He reckons Ducati dealers in Europe are probably down by 25%, UK HD sales are up by 12% but not to Brits ,who are mostly broke but people coming over from Europe to take advantage of cheap £ versus strong €uro they save 20% on price of HD . Title: Re: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: fastwin on December 23, 2009, 07:29:18 PM Nothing really to compare to worldwide sales but my good friends at a local Suzuki/Kawasaki dealership are absolutely dead. From four full time salesmen to two last year and just yesterday one of the remaining salesmen said he had only sold two 4 wheelers this month. That's it. Zip, nada, zero... no bikes. All of the remaining 2009 bikes are on serious sale. And this is a really good shop that has been around for many years. Another friend in the parts dept. had his hours cut back by 25%.
They had an absolutely prestine slightly used 2006 Suzook SV650S for sale with only 1000 miles on it for almost a year and a half. They finally sold it on ebay for $3,000!!! They had $4,500 in it! They turned down a $3,600 offer. They dumped a showroom perfect bike for $3K!! Times are bad. That was a really sweet bike. [bang] Glad I'm not selling any scooters these days. :P Title: Re: Ducati sales 2009 vs 2008? Post by: kopfjäger on December 23, 2009, 09:32:33 PM Why?

I've been looking for a 1098, and most of the Craig's List listings around the south or in TX are asking full blue book retail for bone stock bikes, or in some cases more than retail [laugh]I'll wait, thanks.
