Damn shame. But cardiac arrest at 32? Kinda young. I'm thinking either drugs (cocaine) or an eating disorder...

This is sad.  I remember her from Clueless in the mid 90's.  I also saw her recently in Sin City.  She had grown into a very attractive lady.  When I first read the thread title I confused her with Tara Reid.  I would have been less surprised if it was Tara that had died.

Poor kid. I always thought she was hot.

She claimed not to be into drugs or anything, but you never know.

I guess one of the costs of fame is that everyone feels it's their right to make wild assumptions and guesses about your life and death based on few to no facts.

Heart attack risk goes up with age, and it's certainly increased by a host of other factors. They happen at any age, though, including very young kids.

For those who can't sleep soundly without knowing the gory details of someone's death, I'm sure this unfortunate young woman's death will be very extensively reported and picked apart in the coming days.

Very true. I had a friend who had a heart attack at 24. Turned out he had a congenital defect that no one ever knew about. Luckily his roommate heard him fall out of bed and they got him to a hospital in time, but it just goes to show that something like that can happen at any age.

Its sad that shed died at such a young age, but I thought most of her parts in movies were pretty poor acting jobs.....

I had a friend who passed away due to a heart attack at around that age.  Bad valve in his heart.

Drugs? Eating disorder? Both? Neither?  Let's just let Brittany Murphy rest in peace.

I'm with you howie.

A certain someone's sig line keeps ringing in my head...

"It speaks to a mans character when he does not have the good manners to let another man rest in peace."

... or woman in this case.

Another +1 to not jumping to conclusions.

When I was in high school a friend of mine's sister died in her sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of 16.

And she was the last person that ever would've done any illicit substances.

"Celebrities deserve to die for being better than us -- that's the subtext of this whole show!"

more like the subtext of our entire passive-aggressive media culture.
