Title: Monster 1100
Post by: He Man on December 20, 2009, 01:43:11 PM
Either this bike is AWESOME and no one wants to sell it, or the bike sucks and no one bought it.

Cant seem to find a used one anywhere. Is there something wrong with the bike? The looks starting to grow on me...once you get the color right, ditch that headlight, get rid of those "rearsets", get a new seat so it doestn attempt to destroy your bals, and destroy the exhaust with fire from hell, you got yourself one good looking bike.

And anyway with your luck I think you should maybe want a different model than the M1100  ;)

For a second I thought you were high recommending an M1100 for almost $17K.  Then I noticed it was an Australian website!  FWIW I went through the same thing and ended buying a new M1100 for $10800 with no payments till April.  Even though it's sitting in my garage with a foot of snow outside, at least I don't have to pay for it yet!

Start paying now, and get ahead of the game.  ;)

most 1100 owners are former 696 owners who traded in and are out too much on the trade in to sell at a competitive price ;D
and as mentioned above the bike is too fricken awesome to sell !!!

i purchased my 09 1100 brand new from orange county choppers in upstate new york for $9900.00. they have since lost there deal with ducati. when I purchased mine in august of 09 they still had a few brand new  1100's left. I think they are still trying to sell the ones they have left, though you would have to go to a different dealer for service as i did, but I paid almost 2 grand less than the next closest dealers price.this is there phone # 845-522-5237 good luck.

You're talking about a bike that's not only awesome, but it was just released in 2009.  It's too new (and awesome) for many owners to be disenchanted at this early stage and want to sell it.  Finding an inexpensive used one so soon will literally be the needle in a haystack scenario.  The best bet, as mentioned, is to seek out a leftover '09 and cut a good deal on it.  The price shouldn't be too bad, and you can enjoy it from mile 1.

my salesman told me that the deal was never finalized from the start and ducati could not agree with them on terms of the deal.

I'd like to believe it's because OCC's Senior is an ass and cuts on his kids every chance he gets.  His kids aren't the "hardest" working on the planet but it's your family man.  My DVR records new runs on OCC and I watch them to see how many times Senior will cut them down.....every single time.  None of his kids has a relationship with him and now everyone in their shop is talking trash about Jr too.

he's hard on them, but mikey doesn't do any work and jr. is a cocky kid that thinks he's running the show.  i think they're better off not working together, but that's probably not the best idea for TV.

You ever see what happens when Sr. builds a bike? There is always some screw up. I know he knows his stuff when it comes to the business, but Jr. is really the visionary of the two. I'm sure Mikey knows he doesn't do any work, but does crack everyone up in the shop. That's important too. Now to watch a re-run I might have missed...it's on in 3 minutes. lol

But for the record, the episode I am watching is the story of how the show started and it states that Sr. came up with the idea of building a brand new bike(instead of a junker rebuild) and Jr. came up with the the theme of the bike. So obviously a group effort.

OCC?  I think they are going to get what they deserve -- it always comes around in the end fittingly.

Sr. is now sueing Jr. (I'm sure others have posted here already)  More here for those who didn't --> Idiots who build motorcycles (http://www.tmz.com/2009/12/24/orange-county-choppers-paul-teutul-sr-seni-paul-m-teutul-lawsuit-stock-occ-american-chopper-motorcycle/7)

it's TV and half the shit is BS but no matter what you DO NOT put family down like that PERIOD!!!!!  all you have in life is family.  Sure, make fun of his work ethic or whatever you'd like to poke fun but don't cut your own flesh and blood.

And no I had no idea Sr was suing Jr.  What a shame.  Sr will end his life alone and regretful.

if the second article is true I'd laugh my ass off and shut the business down to prove a point.
