Title: clutch cover gasket for 695?
Post by: deepak8612 on December 22, 2009, 10:26:18 AM
I have been looking through the parts catalogue for the 695 and dont see a gasket listed? Can someone who has replaced a clutch cover on a 695/620 etc shed light on this? If there is a gasket (im assuming there is since it holds oil) where can i get one?

Thanks

No gasket.

Use a good sealer like 3Bond/Yamabond/Hondabond.

There's a green O-ring that seals an oil passage between the cover and the crankcase.

Make sure it's in place before you put the cover back on.

Why are you pulling the cover?

There is none.  The factory uses a sealant called Ducati Liquid Sealant, Tribond and Yamabond are equivalents.  Used properly it works.

If you want to use a gasket you can get one here:
http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/shop/catalog/ducati/maint.html (http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/shop/catalog/ducati/maint.html)
Scroll down to the middle of the page.  This gasket is high quality.

See what happens when you get pulled away from the computer :P

Low sided the bike a while ago --- see: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=32098.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=32098.0)

Finally getting around to fixing her up. Cover is cracked and was leaking alittle so instead of messing around with welding etc I just got a replacement off ebay for $50.

OK.

Make sure the seal that's in the sidecover (goes over the end of the crank) is in good shape.
