Stumbled on these yesterday, I have seen them in bike mags before.

Anyone got them or rate them?

Or are they just another gimic? ???

No substitute for getting "down and dirty" with a good reliable pressure gauge (I got a Michelin) and physically checking them.  [thumbsup]

At the same time giving the black stuff a once over for cracks/splits and foreign objects (Road kill etc [evil] [thumbsup])

Agree mate. Ive actually got a tyre pressure checker thingamadoozy. I ride everyday so I also know when my tyres are not feeling right - well mostly. Also check every fuel fill (once a week). Funny that, as the bike also knows when I dont have my mojo about me too and am not riding right - it sure tells me.

I suppose that its more of a lazy thing to look down and have a squiz. Ok Ill stop being lazy. point taken.

On that: Is it just me or are there some days when we just dont have our mojo about us. Cant pick our lines, shifting is not smooth and the overall ride is just plain downright clumsy. :'(

I wish it was just you! well, no, that's not what I meant, but yes, we all have those days when everything just gels together and then there are the other days(more common I reckon) where the mojo has gone walkabout...  :(

I can't recall exactly where I saw it, but I am sure it was in a bike mag, but these had concerns raised about them....
Basically the story went that a guy had them on his bike, and ended up having a massive stack cause the pressure in the tires was way down.  They (the friends of this guy or the bike mag) did some tests on the caps, and found they were far from accurate, and actually would get stuck on a pressure (so, it would indicate all was good, but the pressure was actually low).
I can't vouch for the accuracy of whether this was true or not, but you may want to google a little more and see if anything pops up.
I do agree with the comments below; I can also feel when the pressure is down, and I have my bicycle floor standing pump with guage handy to check pressures regularly (actually I was a little badword with my bike store; on my recent service they took it apon themselves to change the pressure in my tires to well above what I was using; still need to get it back to where it was).

I think there was also a story going around that some riders have experienced a sudden deflation when the unit malfunction!! (The ole 50c, 20c 50c, 20c thingy!!)  [evil] :o
