I thought this would be a good video to post up for the holiday season. I ran it by Statler and he told me to post it in General. It's mildly graphic.
Safe stay out there.
Absolutely brutal. And moving. Thank you. Could something like this be shown here in the US? How about mandatory viewing in drivers ed classes?
I saw some pretty brutal, raw kind of video/commercials like this when I was in New Zealand a few years back. It was pretty shocking to see, coming from U.S.A. Hard to watch but it sticks in your mind. Amazing the kind of sex and violence that you will see on TV in U.S. but you will never see such realistic and graphic depictions of careless driving. It's a shame because I think that it would be effective in getting people to think about their actions more. Happy Holidays and Stay Safe!
OMG, that was insanely brutal!
It has a good message, though, I'm sending it on to some of my loved ones (with a content advisory).
that video is awesome, now only if they would make one about peopl texting and talking on the phone.
only reason drunk driving is so popular to vilify, is because madd in the US was such a big deal and lobbied for years, otherwise drunk driving would be no worse than texting and talking with so many people saying "i'm a great driver i can do anything while driving fine" it was that way for decades.
but the video is unrealistic, unfortunately we are assuming people that drink and drive can see themselves in the bad positions shown in the video and how it ruins lives and kills people and that they will change their behavior. unfortunately most think "that is someone else" until it happens to them.
truly sad.
thanks for posting the video reminder to us all.
have a safe holiday season everyone,
stay safe out there folks and teach your kids (under the threat of a serious beating from you, which is a valid reason in my opinion, if they ever drive drunk) and other new drivers at a young age to not drink and drive or text/phone while driving.
Its truly the only real chance we have at cutting down on the problems and making the roads safer.

Holy shit, I'm traumatized for the day. I don't even want to drive home now......
Thanks for posting that, hbliam.
:o :o
intense....
everyone be safe, and smart this holiday season.
safe holidays, everyone.
[clap]
thank you thank you thank you. i'm not perfect and make the beast with two backs up often but drinking and driving...no excuse. sorry but if you drink you drive...make the beast with two backs you
Agreed!!! Be safe out there, especially on New Year's Eve.
Is that was this song was about?
REM song.
It takes ALOT to shock me...... The baby got me. No good, man. No make the beast with two backsing good.
God Almighty... :'(
The texting one was awesome. Sounds cruel and cold but accidents like that need to happen more often exclusively to people who (though talking on the phone is bad as well) TEXT while driving.
If videos like this is enough to significantly curve texting and driving.....awesome but i get a bad feeling that this is a thing that will get better only after people pay with their lives....hang up and drive!
Sorry for the rant and merry Christmas.
That video was a great reminder to all of us.Sometimes it takes a few scare to get it in our heads, this video will do it.It can happen to anyone. Thanks for posting.Merry xmas to all and stay safe.
What shocks me more than the commercials is that Dui, accidents and fatalities are all still going up.
Few weeks ago now, there came an almighty noise from the front of the house. Ran and looked out the door to a scene of destruction. The centerpiece being a young lady in a small modern car, with a face full of airbag, and an arm sticking out from under sed bag, still clutching a mobile phone... Seriously, stereotype much? End result 3 cars destroyed, (incl mine [roll]) And a smashed up front yard full of glass. But all things considered, she missed two girls at the busstop by inches, so it could have been significantly worse.
Either which way, such a pointless crash that couldn't even be called an accident.
Take care on the roads, cause they're out there.
Thanks for video, it is scary but also a brutal reminder for all those who drink while driving. Video link is posted on D.O.C. (Ducati Owners Croatia site) as a warning, and I hope all these scenes will not be part of someones real life. Drive carefully and stay safe.

I'm in the same boat as you. My wife asked what I was looking at before some of the crashes started, I shrugged it off. A few seconds later the guy getting out of the car got creamed good, and thats when it started hitting me. Wife said DAMN honey, must have been bad if it made YOU choke up like that...
NEVER a bad idea to remind yourself why you DON'T do something...
Happy holidays to all, and drvie/ride safe out there [drink]
The UK, Aussie and Kiwis get these.
And in the US, the best I've seen was a "wear your helmet" PSA a few decades back with a watermelon bouncing off a truck and hitting the pavement and going "smooosh" in slow motion.
It wasn't a bad (but probably too subtle for most folks) reminder of how delicate the contents of your head are.
But it pales in comparison to these.
they need to make a video that makes sense in FF mode. DVR ... YEAH!!!! [drink] [drink] [drink] [drink] [drink] [drink] [moto] [moto] [moto] [moto]

It's mildly graphic.
Compared to what the typical officer sees on a daily basis.
For the rest of us..F*CK!! :l
The part where the guy gets run down as the woman is sitting inside her car reminds me of the officer in Michigan who was hit by a semi. He stopped her and as he was by the side of the car, a semi plowed him down. They had to pry the woman's hands of the steering wheel. :-[ That's why you'll see the cop cars parked behind and on an angle when they stop cars in MI. To divert oncoming cars in case they get too close.
Hard hitting but a good clip.
I am not riding, driving, or walking anywhere ever again.... i am staying at home and living vicariously through the internet...
