I'm going to get a couple of blanks and wanted to find out if anyone else is interested. Besides having spares, those of you who use disc-locks, an uncut blank is a pretty fool-proof way of never forgetting you have your lock on:

How exactly does an extra blank help you remember you disk lock?
Because if you put the uncut blank in your ignition when you put the lock on, there is no way you can start the bike without taking the blank out and remembering it's attached to the disc lock...
Ooooooh. So it performs the same function as looping the end of the stretchy cable over your throttle.
If you don't feel the need to have a key that says Ducati on it, you can get a Silca KW15BP key blank from most locksmiths that will work on most of the older Ducatis. It's also used by Kawasaki.
