The goodies went mostly to the kids, so you did me no harm at all. [thumbsup]
Feel free to send more anytime you like. They'll love you forever. :)
Thanks for the congrats all.
It's taken a lot of hard work and willpower. It has been worth it though. The missus is really loving the new me. It's amazing what losing 30 lbs does for your sex life. She's even accused me of taking enzyte. [laugh]
My new goal is 180 by valentines day. That will put me back at my fighting weight when i was competing.
After that, i'll probably just try to maintain it.
Dood. . . that's rockin!! Congrats.
My wife wants to know how you did it.
Also, a 30lb loss will make your bike faster :D
Awesome side benefit!
191#'s as of today. ;D
Nothing else to report.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Not mine. I've got the slowest

Gratz and please tell us more.
Besides the running, did you give up certain foods, or cut back on quantity? Do you plan on these changes being permanent? What about drinking?

I gave up drinking, smoking, soda, back in november.
The diet plan is relatively simple.
No sugars,
starches,
alcohol,
caffiene,
drink at least 96oz of water daily, especially 1 full glass right before each meal,
eat small amounts 5 to 6 times a day instead of 2 or 3 larger meals, and nothing after 6pm.
exercise at least 30 minutes daily. (my workouts are up to 90 minutes+ now).
I also found out that it helps to eat some sort of junk food (honey buns) once in a while.
I'll do that once about every other week. It stops the urge to binge in the middle of the night.
edit: added caffiene to the list of things i gave up/can't have.
Thanks.
Would you tell me more about the not eating after 6pm? I can understanding the reason behind it. After dinner is when I'm most likely to chow down on a lot of crap I don't need and when I'm not even hungry for it. But if I didn't eat after 6pm I wouldn't be eating for 12 or 13 hours. How do you cope with that? Do you go to bed early?

If you consider 10pm early then, yes i do. My day starts a 4am, 5 to 5:30am on the weekends.
So.. I'm up at 4. Surf the web for a few minutes. Get ready and go to work. First break is at 9am, that's when i get my first "meal". Come home at around 3:30pm, help with the house work and dinner, work out, shower, eat last meal of the day.
Generally, the only hours of the day that i have to worry about are between 6 and 10pm. That's where the will power comes into play. I've been "finding" things to do around the house to keep me from just sitting around snacking. I haven't watched a full hour of television in one sitting in almost 3 months now.
You can eat after 6. You just need to control the amount and type of food. Stay away from complex carbohydrates. Your body won't have time to burn them off before you go to bed.
Let's say for instance that i'm dying to tear into a bag of chips. I'll resist as long as i can, then when i do go get them, i'll only eat a handfull at the most. Just enough to get the "taste" craving satisfied. After that it's no big deal to put them away.
Well, I blew it. :(
The goal was 180 by today.
I'm at 182. I did have a minor setback though. For some reason i don't know i went about 2 weeks without losing anything at all.
New goal 170 by easter. ;D
Still. . .
quite the accomplishment

Thanks for all the kind replies ladies and gents. [thumbsup]
It's been a real challenge to get this far. I've really put myself through the wringer these last few months.
It's nice to see that others can appreciate what kind of effort something like this can take.
I did cut back on my running though.
I'm doing five miles a day, six days a week now and added an hour of taekwondo right behind it.
I'll probably go back to teaching sometime this summer. The only reason i quit in the first place was my screwed up work schedule.
I never knew how long each work day would be.
