Title: 318 Post by: INFIDEL on December 31, 2009, 07:53:05 AM I bumped into the Ride for Kids (they raise $ for kids with brain tumors) booth at the Seattle IMS earlier in the month. I was thinking about it and jumped in the net to check into it some more last night. That's when I found this guy who is trying to raise $318 a day for $318 for Ride for Kids.
Don't think he has a clue as to how challenging it's going to be but I applaud his efforts. Go check out his website: http://web.me.com/orducrider/Site/318/318.html (http://web.me.com/orducrider/Site/318/318.html) Oh, and he rides a Monster [thumbsup] and has a blog about his travels and rides as well. Title: Re: 318 Post by: ducatiz on December 31, 2009, 08:20:59 AM nice first post.
Title: Re: 318 Post by: Statler on December 31, 2009, 08:29:08 AM is it an amazing coincidence that the guy with the webpage you linked and you have the same email? orducrider?

I say delete the verbiage and tell him to start over without all the lies.
Title: Re: 318 Post by: Popeye the Sailor on December 31, 2009, 10:06:09 AM I applaud the cause but the whole...."I'm only posting here because I want your money" aspect rubs me the wrong way.
That and I don't know who the f*ck this guy is, so I'm just going to assume scam. If Statler said he was raising money? Sure. Someone I don't know? Nope, sorry. Title: Re: 318 Post by: Porsche Monkey on December 31, 2009, 10:22:38 AM [popcorn]
Title: Re: 318 Post by: JBubble on December 31, 2009, 10:42:47 AM While I disagree with how this was posted, I thought I would provide more info.
This guy used to be a member here and on the old board under a different name (no, its not Mother). He's put forth efforts to raise money for the Elsie May Ride as well, which raises money for a local hospital's brain institute. Everything is legit and the money is going to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Title: Re: 318 Post by: krolik on December 31, 2009, 10:57:51 AM +1
This guy is legit. [thumbsup] Title: Re: 318 Post by: hbliam on December 31, 2009, 11:02:20 AM While I disagree with how this was posted, I thought I would provide more info. That's not legit. Title: Re: 318 Post by: JBubble on December 31, 2009, 12:17:54 PM That's cool and all if he is legit but why is he posting up like it's not him he is talking about? It is legit. You can contact the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and ask. I had to get approved 1st. No intentional deceit intended. Hi all it's Neikos - I'm back after months off the board. I submitted my Introduction per the suggestion below even though I'm not really a new member but a returning member. So . . . had I not been stuck in my third person press release mentality what I would have posted would have been along the lines of: Hello I've been away for 6 or 9 months doing other things. This summer I was a member of the committee that founded the Elsie Mae Memorial Ride http://pdxriders.com/index.php?title=Elsie_mae_memorial_ride (http://pdxriders.com/index.php?title=Elsie_mae_memorial_ride)in Portland, OR. We raised $1951 dollars for the Providence Brain Institute. After our event I still wanted to do something to make the world a better place. I'd supported the Ride for Kids program over the years and found that you can raise funds all year long not just on the day of the event and have decided to try to raise a LARGE amount of money for them over several months. Please check out my link and pass on the inf. if you are so inclined. Thank you in advance. |
