Title: Jackets Post by: badgalbetty on January 02, 2010, 06:24:23 AM Hi Girls,
Happy New Year! Does anyone have any experience with Fieldsheer synthetic Jackets? Are they warm and do they hold up in the event of me tossing the bike in the weeds at 90? Never had a synthetic jacket, only leathers and I am without one of those at the moment. I am a size 10/12 if anyone has one for sale but was thinking of buying a Synthetic for the 2010 season. Thanks! BGB Title: Re: Jackets Post by: kp on January 02, 2010, 06:58:29 AM I don't have a Fieldsheer but I do love my tech fabric jackets.
Check out kneedraggers.com, they're always having a sale. Have you tried one on yet? Also check out ebay, I've gotten some hella good deals on NWT motor gear. I have a few all leather jackets that I like, a tech fabric Joe Rocket for just tooling around town in the summer but my absolute fav is my Rev'it tech and leather jacket. It fits the best, the armor is in the right places and stays put, the zippers are easy to find and use with gloves on and it has a water/wind PROOF zip out liner as well as an insulated removable vest. I beat the thing up on a 10 day road trip from MN to SD, WY, CO and back last summer and it performed beautifully and still looks great. It was kinda spendy but I negotiated a great price on it at my fav motorbike dealer. I throw enough money at them on other stuff! good luck on the jacket, and try not to hit the weeds! best piece of advise I could give you though is to try on a bunch of jackets and see what fits best, I love the option to zip the jacket to the pants. Title: Re: Jackets Post by: JBubble on January 02, 2010, 10:36:11 AM I wear a Tourmaster/Cortech most of the time and really like it. Its warm and cool enough for the weather I ride in (I even rode with it in the 100+ temps we had in portland this summer). And I had a minor crash in it at low speed in gravel. The jacket had no damage at all.
If you'd like to take a look at mine and try it to get some sizing ideas, we can meet up at the Brew gathering on the 23rd. Title: Re: Jackets Post by: somegirl on January 02, 2010, 10:52:14 AM I love my Rev'It textile jacket and wear it year-round in all sorts of weather.
Title: Re: Jackets Post by: badgalbetty on January 08, 2010, 06:35:18 AM tried on a Dianese, an Icon and an Alpinestars yesterday at 2 different shops.
Dianese felt good but out of my price range at the moment. I have noticed that the Icon range of Jackets run really small. I'll give updates as I try on more jackets! Until then I am off shopping at motorbike shops, what could be a better way to spend the day? Well there are men, chocolate, riding, .etc but it is winter and I am on a diet and I dont have a boyfriend...........so its shopping for a Jacket ! wahoooooo!! [laugh] |
